Right on. When I have some dead time, I can focus on creating some videos and lectures. I think that helps for people to see what the hell I'm talking about, because it's quite unorthodox, even in terms of Shamanic Journeying stuff.
So yay us!

The draft as of 7/24/12 is listed on the Layouts thread on the Green Trapezoid group on our Social Network in a pdf for your review.
Please have a look, offer feedback, and let me know if you feel this thing is ready for release.
cultofcthulhu.wall.fm/forum/topic/371
I need to have this thing finished no later than 8/1 so I can get to work on my own Zine, Grotto Magazine. If I am to release a conjoined effort for the Fall, then I will need participation before I'm willing to consider it. Based on the lack of participation in the GT, it looks grim for a Fall issue of the GT/Grotto.
Feel free to change my mind.

Final draft can be found here: cultofcthulhu.wall.fm/forum/topic/371
PDF file is dated 8/2/12
It will be released on 8/5/12
If you have any comments, or requested changes. Now is the time.
I can still make tweaks once it's live, but it would be best to nip them in the bud before release.
Thanks, CS

So far it's been positive. Most note-worthy compliments:
Chinedu collins TO: anwyn_of_earth@yahoo.com Message flagged Monday, August 6, 2012 6:09 AM Dear Priestess My attention was drawn to the summer issue of CoC summer zine/ newsletter. I want to thank you for still publishing my poems even after my exit. It is a beautiful work you did in the zine, keep it up. Now I understand what you mean by 'fiercely independent' I believe we will still work together or under you guardians.
Hail Cthulhu ftaghn
Yours sincerely Prince Oola Groag
From Facebook:
Jon Knight Definitely an interesting read. I will be keeping my eye on you green trapezoid weirdos. Haha!
Last time I checked on the stats, it has about 160 reads. Not bad for a day's exposure.
Sparked more interest in readers that seek to contribute to the Fall Edition.
I'll keep you posted and thanks.

Feedback from my Wordpress Account:
Hunter Elliott hunterelliott88@gmail.com 74.179.159.148 Submitted on 2012/08/08 at 3:50 am As someone who grew up in MA, I had heard of Lovecraft but never really read any of his work until recently. Now I buy every book with his stories I can find, and I never put them down when I finish one I pick up the next one. Reading his stories has stretched my imagination beyond belief and opened my mind and my heart to what could be and what is. This is the first copy of this newsletter I had seen and I only found out about it because of Venger As’Nas Satanis’s youtube channel I found today. You guys are doing amazing things and I cannot explain how happy I am to have found people I can talk to about this stuff and get better understanding. Long story short thank you for the time you guys put into this awesome newsletter and you have definitely found a new follower.

Some of the feedback comes in by phone too. Yesterday a reader called me to voice that the Grotto is open to everyone, whereas the Green Trap caters to occultists.
When I proposed that the merger could include why the Cthulhu Mythos could be used as the back drop, it became more appealing to the reader but he voiced that the readers of Grotto may have no interest in writing of Lovecraft or its themes.
His concern was that I was onto something great, and the merger could kill it before it ever got off the ground.
I've got about 4 votes on the poll at this point. There's still time.

CS There are quite a few people who assume the Cthulhu Cult is all Lovecraft, all the time. That's not true, of course. One could explore a large stretch of trapezoidal territory without actually coming into contact with the Mythos.
Similarly, there are multiple e-zines out there in cyberspace which cater to Lovecraftianism. What separates these apart from the Green Trapezoid? Answer: the non-Lovecraftian aspects of our paradigm which, I believe, is very much in line with The Grotto.
Just my 3 cents.

I tend to agree with you, I know as the Editor I can make it work. As far as the CoC and its themes, it appears that you and I are the only people that seem to know that, so it begs to question what we are doing incorrectly to communicate that to even long-term cultists???
Something to think about and worth examining in a discussion format.

I think current Cultists realize that we're more than just a Lovecraft religion, but outsiders see "Cult" and "Cthulhu", then make a logical, albeit unimaginative, connection. Is Christianity only about Christ? What about Satanism - is that only about Satan? The average person isn't going to understand any deeper than a surface level.
Either way, an article about the non-Lovecraftian ideas of our religion is probably in order. Anyone else want to give their feedback on The Grotto and Green Trapezoid?

Ipsissimus hello there, darkest salutations and all that. For the agreement that Cult of Cthulhu reflects more than Cthulhu if one considers the variety of the main philosophy. What you set out to create is something vastly different from the expectations of those who have drifted by and are caught in this fixation of loving the Lovecraft as to be bound by its limitations. While the Ancient Ones offer great path-working archetypes that continue to be used by myself but not so much, there is only so much you can do with a tentacle and fresh flesh runes hah! No. I have my own Mythos to conjure and reckon. But consideration to the Viridian Way and Priestess Cora'Sahn brilliant insights and direction are being studied with a certain amount of understanding.
The merger between Green Trapezoid/Grotto is would serve the CoC membership to its credit and editorial wise to the more relevant quality and focus of submissions. Of course this would alter the layout design presentation, and how to format for the niche expectations of the readership. Tricky, but not entirely impossible.
Sacrifice. Sacrifice.

People amuse me. They are so very narrow-minded, silly insects... Also, is it seriously that hard to do a proper spell check? I think you did a wonderful job Priestess Cora'Sahn! The layout is great but it's the content that is truly valuable. I plan on submitting a few things for the next issue. Hail Satanis!

Well, there's a vested interest in writing about the Cthulhu Cult. I often find it both amusing and mechanical.
I agree, the content is valued and I've received mostly positive feedback.
This thing will only get better with more participation.
Thank you for the feedback.

Venger,
Did you want to submit your recent essay for the zine or did you plan on writing something special for the Fall edition?
Let me know, I'm organizing submissions. I'll accept them through 10/15 but my target deadline is 9/15 so I can start working on editing and layouts.
