The Green Trapezoid is the official newsletter of the Cult of Cthulhu. Its key feature is to culminate writing by cultists, and keep the public abreast of our Great Work.
This effort has been organized on our official Social Network www.cultofcthulhu.wall.fm, with a Group cultofcthulhu.wall.fm/groups/30 dedicated to discussing content and layouts.
If you would like to get involved, we are in the midst of putting together our quarterly issue for the Summer season.
The deadline for submission is 6/27/12, with a release date of July 10th.
Assisting Editor Aracon C'zhan has been motivating cultists to submit their writing and artwork. If you receive an email from her, please give it your due attention.
I have received (4) articles, and (2) poems so far, with more content on route. I've created a topic to discuss layouts and such, please weigh in.
If you have any questions, feel free to post them here or on the Group.
As the Editor, I'm not so concerned with how you write, but what you have to say. Editing is refining it for reader presentation.
.
This is a group effort.

Thanks for the feedback, still tweaking it for a better overall presentation. Other pages will include art, but most text pages will have less color for ease of use and printing.
I look forward to your submission.

There are three roles embodying the editorial duties: Editor-In-Chief, Editor, and Assistant Editor. Priestess of R'lyeh Cora'Sahn is the Editor-In-Chief. She has the authority to assign those subordinate roles as she sees fit.
The Green Trapezoid is not just seeking contributors but constant feedback from the entire Cult. This e-zine should be shaped by all of us. If there are any questions, comments, suggestions, or whatever, then post them here for Cora'Sahn to read.

Thanks VS.
That said, here is another layout page for your review and feedback:
Draft - inner page 1.
VS noted that it was bit busy, I agree. So I have modified it.
How do you like it?
Draft - page 3
I have modified the artwork and centered the text.
Better?
Others can be reviewed on the social network. I have included a pdf file for ease of view. I am still loading content, so please be patient.
Thanks, CS

Do you always use pre-recorded music? If so, perhaps a photo of your cd selection on an altar or drum may compliment the piece.
Thoughts?

CSYes I use a cd , but my goal is somewhere along the line using a real drum with someone doing the drumming. It's a great idea if I had a drum , but only the cd wouldn't look that great on my Altar. I wish I would have thought of a photo though. Anyways did you get my two corrections? One is in the second paragraph..Should be NOT looking for Earthly animals and the second one I believe it's in the second to last paragraph, should be a comma after call-back and not a (. All in all though the piece looks awesome and I'm very happy with it. Ia' Ia' Cthulhu fhtagn!

Yes, I did. The corrected copy for your review. I posted it on the group, but the group was deleted by Aracon upon her excommunication from the cult. It is the reason I created the new group.
Give it a look over.
I play drums, I can teach you some pointers when you do acquire one. I am a trance drummer specializing in the transcendental arts. I play doumbek, djembe, and tammora as a specialty but play other percussion instruments.
I can show you some basics to induce trance. Video chat is the best tool for this. I can walk you through how to produce the sounds and bpms needed for a shamanic experience. Just let me know when you acquire one.
A few years ago when VS was going to host the Chulhu II I had planned on conducting a demo. Shame that it never got off the ground. We should plan that again in the future.

Awesome! Love and it looks great!! I would like that very much and plan on getting a drum soon. A demo would be cool and hopefully will happen sometime in the future. Thanks for the help and pointers and look forward to exploring more with you in the future. Ia' Ia' Cthulhu fhtagn!!

I actually just got a new doumbek two days ago (or darbuka,) and I saw this post and was overjoyed. I had always wondered if drumming meditation, or even suizen (I play the shakuhaci as well) could be included into our practices.

Awesome! I seem to be the only one with this practice and focus. We can start a focus group on the social network. Game?
I think I'll add my Tarot piece to the next issue, and include this (Dancing the Blind Idiot God) instead. What do you think? I think it would compliment your meditation nicely in this issue.

I agree all the way and I'm game!! I'm working on doing some self remembering while I'm doing my drumming meditation as well. I was hoping someone was actually doing this kind of thing and I wasn't the only one. Very cool!!

Right on. When I have some dead time, I can focus on creating some videos and lectures. I think that helps for people to see what the hell I'm talking about, because it's quite unorthodox, even in terms of Shamanic Journeying stuff.
So yay us!

Sounds good! I'm writing my article about Suizen and the way it could be used in self remembering instead of attaining emptiness of mind, sort of the opposite of the way traditional Honkyoku are used.

I PMed it to you, for the newsletter. It's pretty rough right now, I was half asleep when I wrote it, so I think I should go back and edit it.
