You could have a contest.
I think it would make matters worse. I can't tell you how many insecure messages I get a day as it is. Add an element of competition to the mix, I wouldn't get a single submission, I swear.
I'm always awe struck at the amount of insecurity people have, I get it, I understand it. It just makes me want to kick these people in the head and scream: Stop saying you'are not good enough, Belief is fucking reality!
I digress...
You get the idea.

I try to be humble, as noone likes a cocky prick. I would still submit under whatever circumstances. I was turned down by 2 different publishers with my book for two different reasons. 1 said alot of my material was too close to what was out there already and they feared infringements (which is fucking bullshit), and 2 because about half of the material has been published elsewhere online, here, witchvox, Tradcraft.net, paganpages etc. (which is true), but its my shit, and its never been on paper. So I am self publishing, fuckem, I dont feel bad about it Crowley had to self publish most of his material during his life right? It's important to write, in the TOS one of the grade accomplishments require you to create your own magickal system/path, which I did by combining my loves of LHP,Thelema, and Northern traditional witchcrafts. It's important for advancement in the mysteries, to Xepher. It amounts to an effective system of sorcery, philosophy, and lore. I think others may dig the flavor of it as well so I want to get it out there, to try and make a difference.

Here's an idea, Shawn. How about an article on being almost too agreeable? Call it peachy-ism or something, and tell us why you subscribe to it.

As a writer myself, I think it's important to just keep writing. As for publishing, I have some connections to a few publishing houses that have a focus on occult material. PM me for details.
Something to aspire towards? lovecraftzine.com/2012/11/23/issue-19-of-lovecraft-ezine-will-be-online-friday-morning/
I've been following this zine for a few months now. It seems to have a decent sized following, feedback from readers and constant interaction through their Wordpress.
I've been asked by a few readers when we are going to get a website going for the GT. A wordpress is an easy way to accomplish this. It can be a central place to post guidelines, organize content and make contact with contributors.
I use wordpress for my own content, but I don't have one exclusively for Grotto, been thinking about that as well.
What do you think?

I think that's a great idea, the more People that we reach the better. The more feedback we get both positive and negative will only help us grow as a zine. I move to go forward with priestess Cora's idea. Can I get a second?

I put up a Wordpress for Grotto Magazine. Pretty basic, but it should give us a visual example to work with when designing the GT site.

It's basic, but it's a start.
greentrapezoid.wordpress.com
$18 a year for the custom url: greentrapezoid.com, it just removes the 'wordpress' from the link.
Having some graphic designers would be a plus. A nice GT logo would be a great project to work on.
I can add a few more bells and whistles to the site, just let me know what you think it needs.

It turns out that I did forget the deadline. I thought I had more time than I had, it seems that an issue just came out. Anyway, I'll have an article ready by tomorrow.

I extended it to 12/15 for this reason, people always forget. I still only have (3) articles.

I didn't manage to write anything worth reading this time. I'm in the process of moving (actually moving my girlfriend's stuff) and have other things to take care of in my personal life.

I managed to eek out a little something, and just sent it to CS. The last 3 weeks have been quite exhausting, especially since I'm just getting over a cold today.
Let's put our best tentacle forward with the next GT issue. Get started this week. What would you like to read? Whatever it is, that's probably what you should write.

Now would be a great time to pose questions, ask for clarity on any element of the paradigm or suggest some overall thoughts for the next issue.

But I find the beauty of the GT to be the fact that it's a free for all. No particular theme, you can write anything occult related and it should be acceptable. It should not be hard to submit to the GT, so long as you have a descent article it should be fine, right? Or am I wrong?
