having examined the technics and protocols of this board, polished my presentation, and examined a suitable sampling of the expression by administrators, i am effecting this introduction so as to elucidate the conditions leading to the event of my registration.
today Priest of R'lyeh Beast Xeno and i met in Dalnet's #satanity, and he referred me once more to his essay on Doing and Considering, relating this both to thinking for oneself and considerations of influence (within the special language set forth by Gurdjieff). I sought to continue a conversation we'd initiated in reflection of a thread in the MCoS board toward which High Priest Venger As'Nas Satanis and i have been contributing, examining the compatability of Satanism and Left-Hand Path esotericism with 4th Way presentation. partly in response to this i've provided to The Ooze an anniversary gift and begun to listen to the shows in sequence, adding notes and references. my relationship with the cult has included appearing twice on The Ooze with Venus Satanas in response to a generous invitation by Priest Xeno, who has on numerous occasions now found time to visit and contribute meaningfully to the coagulation of the independent Satanists gathered or dropping by.
prior to this, my contact with the Cthulhu cult was restricted to minimal participation in email lists associated with it, and brief interactions with Darrick, particularly when learning of his expulsion from the Church of Satan (occultniks unite! ). I made a prior, separate, discovery of Priest of R'lyeh Ego Diabolus as a candidate for a documentary web page on real Satanists that i was constructing. I was not to learn of their interwoven relationships until earlier this year, though the cult's doings and communications are something upon which i sought to keep tabs because of the many intersecting interests i have in common with it.
the most recent commonality where i am concerned is that of Satanism. my interest in discovering and adequately presenting Satanists to the world led to the construction of a site intending to map us, distinguishing us from the subversion ideologies of Christians or the fancies and sometimes accurate reflections of our competing religious. this, along with my other Satanic documents of note (including the Gospel of Satan and a Satanic manifesto), have proceeded in large from a blood pact i used on 96/6/6 to make myself into a Satanist (Made, Not Born). I was inspired to undertake this pact out of compassion during the height of the Satanic Panic, having already established a neo-tantric dedication to the goddess Kali as a manifestation of my spirituality, which i distinguish categorically from my religious pursuits.
the previous commonality to this was a longstanding study and participation in mysticism, inclusive of involvement in occult orders, study and frolic with skyclad witches, sitting zazen occasionally with Zen temple adherents, and engaging the occasional hatha yoga class. I surveyed the 4th Way spectrum of texts as i could find them (primarily finding clarity in the brief but succinct writ of Kathleen Riordan Speeth), and read quite a bit from 'Crazy Wisdom' teachers of various schools, coming to regard them with a degree of wariness and suspicion. I never enjoyed the writing of Ouspensky, and my introduction to Gurdjieff was through a woman who loaned me a book on Rumi and suggested i read the book or see the film "Meetings With Remarkable Men" (i did the latter as i recall). we would remain somewhat distant friends with common interests, alike to a number of mystics i met in the San Francisco Bay Area where i was living. this strong interest in mysticism in general extends back to readings in philosophy and mysticism i pursued as individual studies after taking courses in college on comparative religion and philosophy.
the oldest overlap of interest would be that pertaining to the writings of H.P. Lovecraft and the general horror genre of books and film. I was once by lots essentially identified with Nyarlathotep in a Neopagan festival, out of numerous less caustic alternatives. not only did i imagine and logically deduce the arising of the fusement of Lovecraft's output (and particularly that which has grown from it -- including the many 'mythos' writings building afterward, and the role playing game based on it all) with Satanism, but i saw and contributed meaningfully toward its intersection with occultism in general, publishing essays online such as a FAQ dealing in part with the reality and content of the Necronomicon, as well as a document, Kathulu Majik, purporting to be the surviving remnant ritual talisman of a mysterious fire at Miskatonic University, and yet functioning both as a role-playing game supplement for Call of Cthulhu, integrating magic and, simultaneously, describing a methodology for non-game Darkside magical exploits featuring encounters with the chaotik, negative, corrosive agents that i understand the 'Cthulhu mythos' to incorporate. prior to that i explored the basis for a consideration of the Necronomicon (any) as a grimoire, or as a comparable transmission of consciousness such as a Tibetan Buddhist terma, in Liber Grimoiris.
the precedences are lost in time to me, so i can not be sure whether i was reading Lovecraft stories prior to, or alongside, the 'Simon' Necronomicon i would have picked up around the same time as the Satanic Bible from a chain bookstore like Walden's in the late 70s or early 80s. previous to that my exposure was probably minimal, focussed on horror like The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby, Scanners, and Phantasm displacing completely a juvenile interest in slasher films such as Halloween and Friday the 13th (both of which now strike me as ridiculous or icky and simply torturous Last Girl grossness).
I grew up in Silicon Valley, California, surviving a fragmented family life featuring no religious, spiritual, or occult interest outside some romantic (and apparently genetically-intuitive) fascination with native Americans, indigenous peoples, and wild animals. my ethnicity as indicated by my contrived Coat of Arms is 'mongrel', and i was taught to bring reason and science to bear on all matters unusual presenting to my attention. my name is nagasiva yronwode. salutations of the lowest.
