Your kung fu is strong...
Well written and well explained. First we must try to be by understanding what it is we are as we are now. We must recognize that we cannot "do", only select from a limited set of influences. Once we understand truly what we are and the nature of those influences (internal and external) that we are restricted to, we can then recognize other influences and try to be influenced by them if they seem more profitable to us. This is intentional consideration; consideration of the self, consideration of our influences, and consideration of other possibilities.
I hope this is what you were looking for to encourage you to post part II.

"To establish this fact for oneself, to understand it, to be convinced of its truth, means getting rid of a thousand illusions about man, about his being creative and consciously organizing his own life, and so on. There is nothing of this kind. Everything happens—popular movements, wars, revolutions, changes of government, all this happens. And it happens in exactly the same way as everything happens in the life of individual man. Man is born, lives, dies, builds houses, writes books, not as he wants to, but as it happens. Everything happens. Man does not love, hate, desire—all this happens."
"But no one will ever believe you if you tell him he can do nothing. This is the most offensive and the most unpleasant thing you can tell people. It is particularly unpleasant and offensive because it is the truth, and nobody wants to know the truth."
I will readily admit that when my boyfriend first brought this idea to me that I cannot "do" any thing, I became immediately defensive and unable to absorb the message he was relaying. I walked away from that first conversation wondering what the point of awakening was if I couldn't "do" anything once I achieved it.
We have discussed it again on several occasions, and I continue to ponder the idea of our future being almost solely determined by the past choices we have made. I have researched other philosophers ideas in comparison, considering what Satre says about a coward having been and being a coward, but having the choice to no longer be a coward at any given moment.
I continue to struggle with this idea.I know that this thread is over a month old, but if you still have Part Three, I would be interested in reading it.

AK If you'll be so kind as to be patient, I will certainly honor this request. You see right now, I'm in my busy season at work and it is very demanding on me. However I can point you in a direction that will... probably give you the third lesson of it.
Answer this question....
How can we apply what we've already learned of Doing and Considering to cause a tangible result?
Want to know a secret? I think when you sit and think about this, you will be able to write the third lesson yourself.... Remember it is not truly hidden.... Just dressed in veils of obviousness...
