Discuss dreams here. Your dreams, their nature, what they mean, etc.
Example: when I finally became a CoC cultist, I had a dream of the CoC website, then I went and checked my mail. A letter from Darrick was there, with my new name and the SoDOS.
Yeah, I thought that was pretty cool.

Good idea to start this thread.
Does anyone else in the group besides me work on lucid dreaming? I've been practicing lucid dreaming and astral projection with a couple of other people-- we've had some pretty unusual results.

hey, should i start a Dream board? i'm tempted to do that, especially since Dreams are a big part of the Cthulhu Mythos. so if you see this topic moved out of Quantum Everything... you'll know why.

yes, I would hope all of our cultist work on dream state related focuses since many of our "Old Ones" use this system to elusively send us fruitful information....But maybe I put too much stock in dreams, its all up to how the individual perceives things.

It twas a couple of years ago... I was in a some sort of sleep paralysis state, I suppose it was because it was very vivid.. I had finally fell asleep after three days(I am an insomniac) I was standing this humid dark area pondering what was going on.. and out of the darkness tentacles wrapped their way around my body pulling me into the sky.. and well that's pretty much it.. keep in mind that I had no prior knowledge to h.p lovecraft or the cthulhu mythos.. until that is I did some research and asked one of my peer's about it, finding out his uncle was supposed priest..

I was in the military at the time but the dream was more vivd than life itself.
I had just left a town of some sort with an associate. We trudged up an frozen hillside pulled by an instintive call .We walked up this dormant mountain through an infinite field of white snow falling gracefully to discover a magnificent village. Some houses had lights on ,some didnt within these elaborate towers.I could feel the cold whisper through my numb my limbs but replied with apathy.Me and this odd gentleman started running and screaming gleefully around the streets in this wealthy town. From our backpacks we removed molatav ccocktails and proceeded to launch them into the homes and buildings in the area.Almost everything within the decently sized town was burning as screams errupted into the snowy night. We ran and screamed with joy at the utter freedom. The fire awakening some spark within.Joy and unspeakable euphoria was the result. We would march on to the next town and repeat which was just up another hill.I would learn how much infinite joy could be squeezed out of a simple dream of embracing arson.Ever since that point I never took a dream for granted or the oppurtunity for freedom for granted ever again.

Strangest dream ever...
A re-occuring one...
It's like our whole nation is taken over by some Large militant force, and everyone is taken to like, HUGE concentration camps, but not quite so...deathly...
Parents are seperated from the children after barely arriving, the place looks like an events arena, with military cot beds all around...
The children (that's me too included, since I've been having this dream since I was very, very, very young) are taken to a different area that is just for the children. The teenagers are the "policing" forth here, as there are almost no adults, save for a few observing Captors...
All needs are met for the children, keeping them in a lulled state of contentment...arcades...concerts...food...toys...
Every now and again, children are taken to this place, a room, it is used for "conditioning" I suppose, to be "taught". Except when I enter...it is different...the guards dissappear, the room dissappear, and I'm admist a cold, dark desert...and From the sky...there are stars...and then they come closer one by one...and they then become symbols, sigils...except not just like a simple drawn design. The symbols are alive, moving, whole, as if this was the template, or this is what the living personification of the symbol would be...
One by one the Symbols rush towards me, speak their words, and violently force themselves into me, my mind, faster, and faster, till the voices are a thunder, and the symbols a blur, and then I black out...
I'm no longer in the "conditioning" room...I'm out free again, while the guards are looking from me...
...and all of a sudden I know what to do...
...and then Ultimately, I start tearing it all down, one by one...
What do you all think of this? Any questions?
I've had this dream for many, many, many years...
I can't get it out of my head.

I wonder if the dream you mentioned couldn't be a premonition of some type or perhaps represent some sort of reality. How exactly did you tear it down? Was the environment post appocalypse?
I had a dream as a youth and it never left me.I glanced a city amongst a rainy cloudy sky lit amongst the lights of the city. This city was no doubt A symbol not for any city in particular but the very essence of cities in general.
Within this city I am violently held in place watching the spectacle before my eyes.Amidst a sea of people is a woman in a hooded robe. The wind blows gently revealing a strange flesh transparent and jointed as a puppet. This mysterious being falls and just as she hits the floor fire and brimstone hit the buildings tearing them to shreds.Sirens go off warning people ,the bomb shelter alarms.Police ambulance and firefighter sirens strain against yet another loud sound, an unearthly rumbling.
Out of the chaotic skies bloated with plumes of smoke comes a creaure of unrivaled enormity.Like the mighty Leviathan of the seas this serphent decends from the chaotic skies. This serpent is not only humungous, but as the mysterious woman whom I focus on this beast had many segments as though it were made of a thousand transparent speres. Its presence for reasons I could not comprehend was the most menacing thing I have felt of my youth.
As people scurry to get away within this chaos, the beast breaths a mighty breath and the flesh of the people is made as the woman earlier, thier transparent bodies full of life no more.A horrible and loud ringing is in my ears now.A group of firefighters fighting a fire are extinguished as the previous crowd, made lifeless by this beast.Thier instruments disappear into little transparent cubes. The army in thier tanks, fighter jets and helicopters are also met with a similarr fate.As these masses are seemingly robbed of all life and energy from this beast ,a sorrow and terror more grotesque than he hangs in the air.
Finally this beast comes to me as I float helplessly and as I can feel evey second of life sucked out of me ,the air is made a cold comparable to the coldest of winter nights. My body shakes violently with tremors, and I know in my bed I am too.But unlike the masses I change,my new flesh is not my own but the body of the hooded woman.Through my new flesh I am animate once more riding this mighty beast. The pain surging through my head is too much and I violently awaken from sleep cold with a ringing loud within my ears

On Saturday I had my first dream of Cthulhu.I explored a place of strange geometry. As I walked around this place danced violently with large white lights and I could make out reds and greens and another color I cant describe. The air was not air or liquid but both. That is when I saw it in front of me,Cthulu rising. Before any emotions came it had attacked me violently, claws and tentacles. The pain was escruciating and when I woke up my whole body and something deeper ached.I was paralyzed and pulled back down into the strange nightmare before the dream faded to something else too nightmarish for me to rememmber clearly but I know it tormented me.I am intensly proud that I can tell that I suffered at the hands of the slimy tentacled one. ;D

A few weeks ago I had a dream that still haunts me. Not because it was frightening, but, on the contrary, because it should have been, but wasn't. In fact I still don't know what to make of it. Maybe I could try to make up a context and write it into a story, dreaming is good for that too! ;D At first, I was only aware of hunger. Not a painful hunger, more of the pleasant sensation hunger becomes when you're about to eat something really good, and you're happy to be so hungry because you can have plenty. And in fact, I was eating something, though I never knew what, just that it felt right. I was then aware of a body that wasn't human, that of an enormous worm, soft, slimy and sightless. Though I could not see, I had no difficulty in finding edible things, for in fact, pretty much anything seemed to satisfy my body. My heavy flascid flesh could only crawl slowly, but I had tentacles that could grab things that might have otherwise ran away, and sensed somehow when something organic was hanging around. Living, squirming bodies, stiff twigs, rhough dirt, anything was a delight. Foul things were just particularily spicy and attractive. Though I could feel my spineless form stretch and contract as I crept forward slowly, the numb rubbing of my mucous skin against the ground, the strain in the tentacles that pulled a reluctant prey into my throat, the only sensation that I could care about was hunger, and the pleasure of obeying it. I had, in fact, a comfortable body, happy in its crude pleasures. Despite the rudimentary brain that I disposed of in such a form, I had a flash of full consciousness, and remembered that I was supposed to be human. I had used a certain trick to transform myself for a certain purpose, but it had been a failure, since this monster, while being mighty, had too crude a nervous system to support a human mind, and strayed away at the bidding of instinct. I also, of course, knew a way to become human again, certain thoughts that I had to formulate to break the spell. Yet I did not. I realised also that my comfortably bloated stomach would explode if it was to regain its human properties - some of the things that still struggled weakly inside of me were large enough to be people! I could not remain sentient long enough to eliminate it all without injesting more in the meantime, my only choices were of being a monster for the rest of my life, or dying horribly. I woke up too soon to decide of either, or figure out a third solution, yet I think, in the state of mind I was in in this dream, I would have chosen to remain like this, even if my life hadn't been at stake, because somehow it felt *right*. I even felt slightly aroused when I woke up. So... Either my subconscious mind was trying to warn me about something, either I was hungry when I went to bed. (or also, maybe I enjoy dreaming alien sensations and my brain got the hang of it at some point) ____________________ Edited: membre.megaquebec.net/youma/Art/dessin13.jpgEventually, I made a drawing of the beast in that dream. The background came out of nowhere though, I don't know why the nuclear desert nor the mushrooms, the freaky mushrooms...

Yeah...that's more like how the dream was...and yes, post apocalyptic... And by tearing down? It's starts small, tearing down the small social structures from within to escape...then tearing down the walls from the outside to release those still trapped within...and from then on...it's pretty much a free for all...Winner takes all. You know?

Alright ,this one was good.No rituals or magick but it was militaristic.
I meet this fellow by no name in particular.Hes a white gentleman of tall and Southern stock and a beard.I beleive him to be a civilian working for the military. He begins to ask me of my opinons of the war and what choices Id make and I respond.
He whips out this device with a satelite view and starts taking out enemy installations overseas like its a videogame. He calls it Project Thunderbolt.Unlike a regular weapons satelite (lasers) this device can control and redirect wind/air currents to the precision of being able to blow a spec of dust through a pin head.I watch as the wind rips these instalations appart and the sweet thing is that enemies dont suspect a thing because the wind is a natural phenomenon although a blast of air instantly smashing an enemy base does seem a little too much like an act of god to be just the weather and not seem suspicious.
The thing about this machine is that it flies almost entirely stealth and looks like a magnifying lens/UFO and flies very very high in the atmosphere,Its also quite small for something that packs such a punch.
The dream ends with me saying that this gentleman's technology will make war obselete.I awaken wondering if the military currently has any such technology.

I had a dream in which I saw graffiti in red, white, and/or black (hard to remember, I wasn't ever looking directly at it for a great deal of time) spray paint on a wooden fence. I was in some kind of crowded suburb, and only after hastily glancing at it, walking past, then looking back did I realize that the image was actually related to the Cult of Cthulhu.
I don't remember what it was exactly, only that I had seen it somewhere before on the website, perhaps one of Darrick's paintings. Along with the painting was a phrase also related to the CoC. "Cthulhu" or "Cult of Cthulhu" or something along those lines, not sure which, sprayed on the fence next to it.
The dream was supposedly set in the town I live in (Whitehorse, Yukon), and I immediately set out to find the person who made the graffiti, because I couldn't believe that even in a small town like whitehorse, someone besides myself had discovered the cult.
Of course, looking back upon it, I realize that I found the CoC pretty easily, so it's not that improbable.
In any event, I think there's someone here who is also a member. At the very least, a messenger of the outer angles.

This is a weird one. Alright, I have been having this series of dreams in which the sky is filled with bright, yellow-orange spheres. Usually I'm standing in a random location with friends and family (i.e. the front yard), when all of a sudden I am compelled to look up by these unusual stars. Then out of no where comes this fleet of Air Force jets as if a war is breaking out. These jets look like upgraded F-22 Raptors, or some times a modified A-10 Thunderbolt. As if on cue, the bright orange spheres make there move. They out maneuver these Air Force jets, but never seem to make an attack. They instead all seem to rush in on my location, and as they get closer they seem to trans form into symbols, which oddly enough seem alive. To quote TheHereticSaint13,"One by one the Symbols rush toward me, speak their words, and violently force themselves into me, my mind, faster, and faster, till the voices are a thunder, and the symbols a blur, and then I black out..."
But thats not where I black out. I then see these symbols start to take on a form similar to human, except they have this rosy pink skin and are hairless. They also have appeared as children with catlike eyes. They usually try to explain to me that they are monitoring me, but never tell why. I think that these are actually future events, yet to take place. I've seen these creatures in many dreams. They are definitely here for a reason, as most my encounters with them are in futuristic war scenarios. The most terrifying was this dream where I seemed to be watching a rescue mission. This helicopter was coming after this man and his son, whose house it appears was near a huge battle that was taking place. The sky was lighting up red with explosions. The earth shook and fault lines appeared with flames coming out. And the sky was completely darkened with smoke. There was also a reptilian creature, and a human with me, but we where all in spirit form. I'm going to stop here, as this is part of a series of dreams that are getting more frequent. I am concerned that my dreams are running parallels with those of thehereticsaint13. Weird!

Tuesday 1/30/7 I dreamt I was looking through a large hoard of magical and horror books, all of them rare and valuable. Amongst these books were dead birds with beautiful wings, and for some reason I regarded these dead birds, too, as being books, the wings folded shut like book-covers.
Then I was at the gathering of a family, not mine, which was very wealthy. The aura of wealth dripped off of them. Aunts and uncles spoke casually of their ābillionsā. There, at this family gathering, I recognized a fellow student from my childhood school, who, in my dream at least, was apparently a part of this family.
At school, this boy had been widely regarded as being "not very bright", and had the reputation of having some sort of a mental or developmental problem. In my dream, he took me to his familyās house, and I was amazed that, behind its plain ancient clapboard walls, such a place could exist in my decayed and rustic hometown. It was incredible: labyrinthine dark halls filled with gilded paintings and leather-bound books, all colored silver and gold, and all ornate and old.
My friend offered to show me to his room, but it seemed that in doing so he was simply leading me back out and through the entrance to the house again. The entrance, however, was now dark, difficult, and grimy. We now had to crawl along the dirt, everything decayed and dust-covered, like the interior of an old wooden barn, metal machine parts and farm implements lying everywhere, the walls bare and half-completed. I woke up.

All mammals need to dream to live. Unless you mutated into a reptile, you probably dream but for some reason, you can't remember it. If that comes with sleeping disorder or psychological problems, then the lack of dreams could be a reason to see a neurologist, but if you sleep well enough to keep yourself healthy, I guess all you have is the usual memory techniques. Did you try waking up at unusual times, not to give your brain time to forget? Either with an alarm clock, for a sudden wake up, or causing some discomfort to cause a shallower sleep(like too many blankets for the season's temperature) Of course only experiment with this when you've got the next day to yourself and you can take naps to compensate.
I'm saying this, but I suppose if you haven't dreamt in so many years, you must have tried the easy tricks already... If it's not something about memory and you really, really don't dream, then run for it, the scientists want your brain!

Have any of you tried dream grass?(no i dont mean cannabis, that doesnt make you dream, it just makes you forget your dreams) Anyway after using dreamgrass for a period of time, you should be able to wander your dreams as an conscious observer. Taking with you any image or thought you experience. It legal here, im not sure about US laws. I have never tried it myself, but my brother has told me that it works, the american indians used it for dream wandering. dragaera.wikia.com/wiki/DreamgrassIt has a technical term, but i dont remember it.

hmmn no i haven't tried this 'dream grass' nor have i ever heard of it before. I have tried some of the simpler dream remembering techniques but to no avail... there are lots of products that allegedly cause lucid dreams or enhanced dreaming but i haven't tried any of these either...

I went to bed late Monday morning, around 4 or 5 AM, and woke up around 11 AM. Right before I woke up I dreamt that I was on a college campus filled with old stone buildings. In my dream, I was absolutely crazy for some reason. I just wanted to kill. The specifics escape me now, but I think I was going everywhere across campus, and people were refusing to serve me food. Finally, I went nuts, and started attacking people and killing them left and right. I remember feeling nothing but hatred, hatred, and a certain relief, too, at finally going crazy. Afraid my mind would break, I hoped someone would kill me and finally end it all. I woke up, hyperventilating, out of breath, wondering why I was killing so many people in my dream. I could no longer remember. I lay back down, and tried to go to sleep again. Later, it must have been 11 AM or 11:30 AM, I turned on NPR and heard about the Virginia Tech shootings. Very strange. I later saw that there were the same stone-buildings on the campus, too, as were in my dream. It can't have been a precognitive dream, since it did not happen before, but rather during or after the massacre. Very strange at any rate.

I have been able to remember any dreams as of late. But the one that sticks in my head the most is. I am being lead down a ladder my a woman, i can't remember her face but she is young. She is leading me into sewers. She warns me of what may be down there. I stay behind... she does not then she dies. i have not got an idea what this means. But i consistantly wake up her death.

Odd enough... In my "personnal dream world" there are lots of tunnels with water in them (not sewers, but natural caves vaguely ressembling), which are dangerous but very convenient shortcuts - shorter ways from point A to point B than a straight line. There's even a town that can only be reached through them. There are plenty of wonders in my dream-world ^_^ Anyway, few people take them, because they're so dark, so wet, and so dangerous, and sometimes I lead people into them so they can visit the town with no roads. I never died in such caves in my dreams, but your dream still makes me think of it. (the most dangerous thing in these dreams are shoggoths, almost the only thing borrowed from Lovecraft, but it's a scary one - there are also a lot of madmen, and an odd profusion of wildlife)

This is the first reoccurring dream i have in a while. since the one about an evil version of my dog. But the sewers lead no where, i have tried to go down them but am always awakened. The reason for me heading down there doesn't seem apparent, in that there is no reason. It is not a tunnel but rather a large underground opening, serving as a sewer. all in all its very confusing. when i dream of this i am aware that it is only a dream and that i am in the dream but but i am completely out of control in my actions.

It finally happened, i dreamt i was possessed. I when i woke up this morning i could still remember it much better, but i havent had time to think about it till now. I remember lying in bed, twisting away and roaring the name of a deity. This is the trip, i remember thinking, "This is a dream", but i was actually at doubt at first. I was totally physically exhausted in the dream, and i was crying the name of a female demon (cant remember the name, but it wasnt Kali, that detail i also remember taking note of in the dream) the way a small child cries for its mother, almost passing out from exhaustion (i remember thinking, "its just like a stomach poisoning where you vomit and vomit until you nearly pass out" (this has happened to me quite a few times, in the past). But instead of vomiting i literally cried out a name(in the dream). Anyway, its not strange that i would dream this. I have been fascinated with demons and exorcism ever since i was a child. Also lately i stumbled over the exorcisms on youtube. I just wish i could remember that name. I still feel strange when i try to tab into what i dreamt. But its fading. Now at least i have written it down here, lest i forget .

Funny, I had a dream with Cthulhu in it the other night. So far, the only Lovecraftian things that made their way into my dream-world were Shoggoths. Why, they are scary!
It was a "Cthulhu rising" scene, nothing very original about that, though maybe the lack of an apocaliptic background diverges slightly from the classical version. The weather was fine, if a little windy, and though people panicked at the sight of the good ole squiddy boy rousing a mini-tsunami as it emerged, it didn't seem as if anyone actually thought they were going to die. More like: "I'm not staying here, but count on me to be hidden somewhere near, I want to gossip about it later, damnit!" Anyway, I, along with random other people, many but not a majority, the "sensitive ones" perhaps, felt compelled to walk toward the shore rather than away. Then I understood why Cthulhu kept contact with humans. Because he was not made from matter of this world, he needed to "borrow" flesh from beings of this world to be able to live, but that was more than predation, he needed his victims alive, and willing to serve, this is why he needed brains that he could influence. He picked people by the handful, shattering bones in his careless grip, but it didn't matter, in the eternal delirium that would follow for them, none would need limbs anymore. I was pretty much crazy at that point, longing for the pain and annihilation and slavery, because my mind was no longer mine.
Yeah, you can be crazy in a dream! I enjoyed that one though, I have a masochist/submissive/morbid side, and in dreams it can be fulfilled to an unrealistic extent without consequences. Plus, Lovecraftian reference!
