The CoC "Don't Be a Douche" Guidelines - SFD (Shitty First Draft)
We encourage our members to intelligently and practically consider The Way (TM), the Eleven Rules of the Earth, and their own judgement and common sense of consequence before acting.
That said, there's very few things that the CoC discourages or outright forbids it's members from doing and you'll find them all in this document. They are things that are mere annoyances perpretrated by users of the Douche Side of the Force and things that are downright NOT COOL. Some of them will merely get you sharply slapped on the back of the head with the admonishment "Bad Monkey!", others will get you banned from our organization, removed from our communities, and totally forgotten.
1. Respect the law of the land where you live. No exceptions, no explanations needed.
2. Respect individual privacy. Do not attempt to "out" a member, meddle with their personal life, harass or stalk them or people they know which you have had no previous contact with, ect. Much of these are felonies in many states, which would be covered under #1, in the event it's not, it's still a fucked up thing to do and makes someone deserving for removal on it's own.
3. Don't spam the forum. Hang around a bit before posting links to or advertising your own stuff or material related to other groups you belong to. It's one thing if you're an established member of our community, another if you're a first post spammer or recruiter.
4. Don't talk about the CoC incessantly outside of the CoC. It's one thing to be proud, another to be evangelistic. It's also a good idea to have other interests to talk about.
5. Creatively challenging the status quo, breaking taboos, challenging consensus reality, thinking for yourself, breaking someone's sense of reality, joking around and having fun are all actively encouraged.
However, if you have to burn down a church to "think for yourself", drink boiled human baby fat to "break taboos", then first, fuck you, and further we recommend that you challenge your own sense of reality by getting professional help and heavy anti-psychotic medication after you are banned or forgotten. Or not, as we won't really care because you'd have been banned and forgotten.
6. Demand an easy answer.
7. Don't make any statements or accusations you can't reasonably discuss like a mature adult.
