not knocking Poe at all, but the Poe-inspired movies are much less entertaining than the source material, i'm sure you'll agree.
also, it would be 10 times cooler to see Corman/Price do "The Statement of Randolph Carter" rather than Fall of the House of Usher or Tomb of Ligeia. cosmic horror trumps the subjective derangement of an individual; however, that's just my opinion.

I agree with you, VS. I'm just not that big on Poe myself.

I like Poe, but I think he overdramatizes (not quite the right word) things too much. As for my favorite H.P.L. piece...that's a tough one...I'd probably go with "Rats in the walls" or "The Outsider", but I'd be incredibly unsure...I've read nothing by him that I didn't like.

I personally like,"The Haunter of the Dark!" It was one of the works cited in Anton Laveys, "Law of the Trapezoid." Also has anyone seen ,"Diary of a Madman?"

Excellent question. I'm fond of almost all, but having to pick I always come back to At the Mountains of Madness and The Shadow over Innsmouth. Ia, Ia!

I love all works of Lovecraft, but I prefer especially At the Mountain of Madness, the whisperer in the darkness, K'n-yan, The Haunter of the Dark and The Shadow over Innsmouth. I love especially "The Shadow over Innsmouth" because I live near the real Innsmouth and the real Esoteric Order of Dagon, and near the real Sons of Dagon.... and I know what inspired Lovecraft when he wrote this tale and all tales of Cthulhu Cycle...... Even if nobody can believe this incredible truth.....
