You are now reading an introduction of a person, who has always been the philosophical kind - a person, who rarely has left any truth untested (for only the truth can stand questions). During my years of searching, I've found many "truths", which I found neither adamant nor meaningfull. And so, I've been searching on - searching for something true, meaningful and fullfilling. You may call it "seeking of enlightenment". I think I've seen few climpses of such a thing, and now, I aim to broaden those climpses into a larger vision.
I've always been interested in ancient wisdom, so I've had my fair share of occult knowledge and esoteric wisdom. I also read and seek out stories (both fictional and true), for sometimes, wisdom can be found in works of a storyteller. Thus, I also came across Lovecraft's work in my late teens, and I've been a great fan (like probably every member here) ever since. I found Lovecraft's fiction somehow more appealing, than many others - it made me contemplate on all the hidden, alien things, that are possibly hidden beneath, and beyond our relatively small spectrum on senses. Lovecraft made me think about reality in ways I've never thought before.
I first stumbled upon the Cult of Cthulhu over four years ago by chance, while searching the internet for Lovecraft related things. Even back then, the paradigms of the Cult spoke to me and I felt a pull - but I also didn't feel worthy of joining at the time. Now I'm few years older and wiser in many ways, and I feel I might have something to give to the Cult - I recognize a correlation between many of the things the Cult holds as it's teaching, and what I already practice in daily existence.
Few people around me truly understand my "work" and the goals I try to achieve with it - maybe from this forum, I can find kindred spirits for support, and sharing of ideas and experiences. Maybe the stars are right for me to finally join my spiritual/philosophical brethren.
As a token of my dedication, I shall recite the Oaths of the Cult in the language of my forefathers:
Kun kuljen kuuttomaan yöhön, lupaan tehdä sen mikä hyödyttää Suuria Muinaisia ja Heidän Kutuaan; sen mikä on oikeaa, hedelmällistä ja hyvää.
(As I walk into the moonless night, I shall do what benefits the Old Ones and Their spawn; whatever is fruitful, righteous, and pleasurable is the way.)
(As I bow before the green onyx altar, I shall respect and honor the Cult of Cthulhu along with its members and vision. As I grow stronger, so does the Cult. As the Cult grows stronger, so do I.)
Kun herään horkan unesta, kutsun Muinaisia mustasta syvyydestä, sillä He ovat itseni puhtain olemus. Kamppailumme tekee meistä sen, miksi meidän on tultava. Suuren Cthulhun Smaragdinvihreä Valtakunta on täällä.
(As I Awaken from my fitful slumber, I summon the Ancient Things from the blackest abyss, for They are the purest distillation of myself. Our struggles will allow us to evolve into what we must become. The Emerald Kingdom of Great Cthulhu is at hand.)
I'a Brother Satanis!
I'a Priesthood of the Cult
I'a Fellow Cutists
