In many of H.P.'s stories the world is not as simple as it seems .All of his stories have an ironic trait that when explored begin to seem quite possible. From beings trapped in men's bodies to ppl being devoured by the enormity of the mind and the great beyond. His shadow of brilliance remains. The mind is looked upon as possessing a sacred fruit which explorers set out to find.Dimensions opened by the mere ability of the act of being an observer.
This begins to shape a picture that reminds me of the quantum theory being placed behind modern sorcery by occultist like Peter Carroll. The possibility of the mind to collapse wave functions or enter a state of decoherence.I ask was Lovecraft a man ahead of his times?I realize that the Cthulhu mythos was just one of many priceless gems this man produced.
His sorcery of weaving together an enormous world by merely using words.Worlds and ideas that if applied change ones perceptions of life in reality.A man who acknowledged the potential of the mind and the manifestation of the unknown and unusual.Such is the great Arte of Lovecraft.

i agree that HPL was a man ahead of his time... or perhaps it would be more appropriate to think of Lovecraft as a man outside of his time.
HPL created alien ways of viewing physics, science, religion, and reality. some of these bizarre and insane concepts which he wrote about back in the 1920's and 30's are now becoming true.
quantum theories affect modern sorcery just as they affect our whole perspective. the building blocks of reality change when they are observed... this gives a whole new necessity to observing oneself. as we struggle to Awake, we change the way reality operates as it comes into contact with us.
words are the most intricate and complex symbols for describing reality and affecting consciousness. words are magic!
