to start of a little thing about myself I have always since I can remember had the ability to stay aware of my surroundings in my sleep. when the smallest thing changes I instantly wake up, even if it doesn't make sound, I'm probably not the only one who has that one, but I also often remember seeing my room from outside my body even seeing myself sleep and going trough my house in this way.
a couple of days ago I went to bed. as normal, But I was suddenly overwhelmed by sleepiness and almost instantly fell asleep when my eyes where almost closed I suddenly noticed a women next to my bed wearing a dress as if she came from 700/800 AD I wanted to ask her what she was doing here but I couldnt help but fall asleep.
a bit later I remember having the view of my room like I often have in my sleep seeing myself asleep but I still saw that women next to my sleeping body, and her lips where moving as if she was talking to me, but I didn't hear anything. then all went black to me again. next time I was aware of anything I was waking up opening my eyes and catching a last glimpse of that women before she completely disapeared in an instant.
I was wondering what you guys would make of it, are there entities in my house ? was I visited by some creature? or am I just halucinating for some odd reason?
On a side note I already do suffer from Auditory Halucinations witch on itself is quite annoying.
AWAKEN!

I'd like to hear more about this, if you care to share.
I had a some what similar dream, years ago, except the woman and her mode of dress looked more like late 60's -early 70's to me. I thought I was awake, I sat straight up because I felt her staring at me. To test it, I got up (in my dream) and turned my closet light on. I don't remember much after that. When I woke up to find the closet light wasn't on, this was a way for me to determine if I was in a hypnagogic state or wide awake.
See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypnagogia
I do remember the feeling of dread. It reminded me of when I was small and adults would come in and out of my room while I was sleeping (I'm guessing to check on me) and I would think they were part of my dream.
I'm an extremely light sleeper. I hear every bump and tick in the house. It's kind of aggravating at times because it keeps me from really resting. This is what causes the R.E.M. state you go through waves of sleep and awakeness when you are a light sleeper.
Have you watched anything or read any books recently that focus on that time period?

lets see I'll start on the thing that happened itself, the last couple of months have actualy been pretty much Science fiction stuff for me, even the music. nothing that even relates in the slightest with history has crossed me for months until that happening.
you should try sleep paralysis its scary as f***
hmm on the Auditory Halucinations, It was something that started when I was 10 and slowly builded up to something I hear almost daily. mostly its a voice that sounds familiar, calling my name then I ask to the persons that are with me if they say'd something and it always ends up in denial and this too happens when I'm alone at home or anywhere else, It was only once that something Inteligent seem to be say'd tho It wasn't much saying as much as a hunch I had, that wanted me to go into the small forest near my house. Does hearing the staircases at home when there is no one there but me count?

Even Sci-Fi has a way of creeping into your sub-conscious.
I did experience a bit of it, during a stressful time in my life. I recall vividly a unique experience, it only happened once, but it was enough for me to be totally amazed by the brain and what it can produce...
Anyway, I woke up in the middle of a dream because my neck was hurting. My entire body was at a 90' angle, with most of the tension being on my neck.
I woke up not just because of the pain, but this blistering humming sound like machines running outside the house. For a second there, I was like: Was I almost abducted by aliens? Then I laughed. I don't remember what it was I was dreaming about, but it was pretty freaky. My body from about the shoulder blades down was suspended in the air. The only thing on the pillow was my head, neck and shoulders.
Robert Woggoner is pretty knowledgeable, I can recommend this book: www.lucidadvice.com/
I had an opportunity to speak with him on a radio show, and I was asking him about the biological functions of nightmares in dream studies. He pointed me to some research papers and their findings. Essentially, the body produces weird dreams and nightmares to wake you up, telling you something is wrong with the body. It could be something as simple as not getting blood circulation, or something more serious like heart palpitations or breathing issues.
The auditory signals you are getting could be an underlying condition. Have you been seen by a doctor?
What do you believe the voices are?

The only condition I know I suffer from is ADD/ADHD according to th doc's but I'm not confinced since I'm just as chaotic as other people my age and im not realy hyper at any time. but w/e
I've never given enough thought/credit to the voices to actualy think about what they come from or what they are, I do know I'm not the only one in my family (My family has no record of serious disease or mental illnes) as my grandma put it `they tell me stuff and then I know them` they tell her stuff that later on actualy happens and things like that.
I personaly just think they are highly distractive and more then just slightly annoying due to the fact that I have to ask `did you say anything?' to the people in the room with me more then once to make sure it wasn't them.
On a diferent Note it happened again, Same lady but this time I managed to wake up, And I saw her from the perspective of my own eyes. AND i could make what she looked like a bit better .

What did she look like , if you remember that glimpse? it was not only dreams I'm convinced I saw her a couple of times wen I was awake as well. but Since I write up my dreams and my strange encounters as soon as I can. I do have her description as I saw her. her hair was very VERY Blonde it seemed to me that it was almost gold. she wore a dress from what I think is around 700/800 AD bare feet, and about 5 feet 3 inches tall on best estimate.

Do you have any feel for the area she may be from? With really blonde hair, that should narrow it down a fair bit.

I personaly think Scandinavia, with the blonde hair among others, in that time period people of that hair colour were pretty much all over northern Europe.

You appear to have red hair from your photo, do you think this may be tied to your heritage?

There are some Celtic Mythologies about this Blonde Spirit Woman haunting this Castle name Baemar Castle and other Mythologies with women spirits. Maybe your should look at some popular legends in those times

actualy my ancestory is more germanic/saxon then celtic. And I'm the only red haired person in the family.ever. I do think however that heritage may have something to do with it. a bit of genetic memory maybe or something like that. There are no legends of ghosts at all in my area mainly because the people are VERY down to earth. BUT what I did find out that In my country the tribes worshipped the same gods as the norse. Once particular goddes Had `golden hair´ quite litterly The goddes Sif the wife of Thor who is probably well known, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sif . this makes me wonder, but by no means gives me a definite answer.

www.mysteriousworld.com/Content/Images/Journal/2003/Winter/Giants/CeltsMap.jpg This should give you a fairly decent overview of the Celts and the regions they occupied. It's a fairly common misconception that they are just the Irish/Scotish/English.
As for myths, there are a number one could draw from. Keep in mind, that by this time the people were exposed to Christendom. Perhaps there is a message in your subconscious that is falling on deaf ears.
Anything going on that you might be ignoring or over looking?

The conscience indirectly effects the sub conscience. Through DMT produced in the pineal gland and the thoughts, ideas, and actions which happen from days to weeks at a time help create your dreams. The more repetitive the thought/event/action and how powerful it is emotionaly and/or spiritualy too you the powerful it manifests in your dream. After practicing the Ninth Angle repetitvly in my ritual chamber, the more I saw the The Great Old ones manifest in my dreams. Sometime shit happens in your day that you didn't control or expect and will manifest in your dreams literally and symbolicaly whiether it be bad=nightmare or good. Once you understand and grasp what I'm writing just like me you will be able to control how to control your dreams by choosing how certain things in your conscience emotionally, spiritually, and mentally manifest. Therefore changing your sub conscience. Therefore changing your dreams

But in your case YOU were awake. Sounds like sleep paralysis but don't take my word for it. Most the time you can't move(BUT not all the time, I have similar circumstances and could move) none the less my post before still applies just in a half conscious state
