I wasn't entirely certain where I should post this, so I figured the general b.s. board would be as good a place as any.
As the Subject says, I have a question, and that question is: what is the Cult's (and the cultists') opinion or stance on the recreational use of marijuana? Is it pretty much the same as written by LaVey in the Satanic Bible, more along the lines of most modern Satanists, somewhere in with the general pagan/wiccan attitude, or more frindly or adversarial? I know it's an odd question, but it's something that came to mind just now as I have been known in the past to occassionally partake in what is euphemistically known as 'the sacred herb': always in moderation, of course.

Ia! Cthulhu fhtagn![/glow] Interesting question and posted on the right place Voraxith. This is my personal view on the question. Marijuana as am sure you are aware, when abused can be deadly as such should not be used without proper guardiance and direction. Sometimes infact most times cultist use it to attain Gnosis in such regards it is usefull and for a usefull purpose. But like you rightly pointed out in all cases it should be used with moderation. Personal responsibility. That's my stance, even 'recreational use' can be abusive, and affect you as an influencing agent.

Indulgence is Satanic, addiction is slavery. Denying yourself the use of anything on a religious basis seems strange to me. On the other hand, not using for another reason for example; legality, personal tastes, magical effects is quite reasonable.

I don't use it, so I can't really say. I hope you find the answer you are looking for.

Thank you for the (surprisingly minimal) input. I already have my own personal answer, I was just rather curious what the rest of you had to say, especially the higher ranking members of the cult.

I posted my thoughts, I feel its an issue of personal responsibility. I've personally observed people go to shit because they lack ambition, and short-term memory to do anything else but sit around and smoke pot. Over a long period of time, I just see burn outs.
Everything in moderation right? Recreational use is fine, but in the hands of a responsible person.
You could compare it to alcohol consumption. When 'use' develops into addiction and codependency, that's an EPIC FAIL in your Work.
