By His loathsome tentacles. Thank you, brother. We just got back from the ultrasound. She's 8 weeks and 2 days along now. Saw the heartbeat and everything. Yay for cardiac motion!
I think The Cabin in the Woods will do more for Lovecraftianism than yet another faithful indie adaptation of a HPL story. And if watching this movie (or reading my review) can bring more people to the previous creations of Joss Whedon like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, well that's just a bonus tentacle.
Awake!

Never show the monster! I won't post a spoiler but damn.
I really liked it though. The story line was good.
I loved that they covered every known tribe that is renown for blood sacrifice.
I'm familiar with a rendition of the 'symbol' too, that was a nice touch.
It is damn time humanity steps down, and the Ancients come forth.
And yes, there will be blood...

This looks like a decent movie, unfortunately I'll have to wait a couple months to see it. Australia does't get new movies until sometime after the US

Fortunately my english is good enough to watch it in it's original version, I'll have to download or buy it when it will be available.
When the stars are right.

Great movie. I'm glad it came out because a lot of things have been played out so far in that field. This was new & kept you entertained with humor.
I agree that a prequel would do good. In Boks opinion...I'd put it in 1945 America. The Government owns a small deserted town & up until recently has used agents(human) to kill the kids since creatures were too hard to contain(giving technology of the times)& unpredictable. This caused a high turn over rate needless to say, so they decided to let select creatures(that they've caught)to do it for them. I suggest going all out, with at least 5 different creatures for our hero's to battle, because you'll have to out do the first movie.
So lets use a couple Zombies, poltergeist, some small, crafty, Gremlin like species for cuteness. A flying creature with a "stun collar"(prohibiting it from bailing) & maybe a Were wolf for the main nemesis. Roads & bridges are dynamited to keep the kids in the town as well as agents with guns.
One thing I would add, is an agent that used to do the killing himself is now burnt out & looking to help the kids to regain his humanity regardless of the cost. He breaks into the town to help & explain things. In the end, our virgin lives(like in the movie)& a ancient God rises in Nagasaki. It's tired & slow while it's destroying everything, which gives us time to launch a nuke. The beast moves even slower as we learn that the massive amount of sacrifices has helped. It moves slowly to Hiroshima as we hit it again. It helps that we're also killing all the witnesses. The creature lays down amidst the smoke & destruction, & becomes a mountain. That's why it can't be found:)
I'm tired so I can't keep writing & I honestly threw the ending together not as well thought out as I wanted, but you get the gist.

Overall very very good.
Found myself being the side line cheer leader egging on the characters to survive to the end of the movie*, therefore am still recovering from the jump to safety scene.
I need to re-watch the movie again as I am still recovering from this major tilt.

ps:- I highly recommend this movie called Altitude (2010) for those who are well versed in the horror genre and like movies like Cabin In The Wood (Spoiler)Couldn't help it as I had to entice you somehow.
1st hour can be a drag, but it is the last 20+ mins which I highly recommend (NO CHEATING!!!!)
pss:- VS, will be waiting patiently for your review on Altitude (2010) ;D
*sign of maturity levels as I grow older?as I usually am egging for the characters to die a grizzly bloody death

thought it ripped off the SCP Foundation website. I was expecting SCP-173 to burst out of one of those glass chambers
