I'm currently reading this book called "Liber Kaos" by Peter J. Carrol and I'm am also somewhat versed in philosophy. In the book, he illustrates how "history is bullshit" and that the only thing that really exists is the here and now. In one of Neitzsche's early works, "The Advantage and Disadvantage of History for Life" he illustrates how too much history is bad for you and why you should attempt to live unhistorically so that you are never paralyzed with fear. These can go hand in hand I believe and for that reason, I am now adopting an "agnostic" approach to history. That is to say, "I dunno? Maybe?" And so that I can progress wildly and freely without hindrance. Forget if but for a moment, everything you've been taught and systematically programmed and make your own evaluations. Who is alive and who is asleep? Who is god and who is the devil? We cannot truly know the answers to these questions as this reality is purely objective. Reality is quite easily modified by a simple alteration in perspective! For this reason, I believe that to forget may be to truly remember...
(I free wrote everything above as these thoughts are just pouring out of me at this point. I eagerly await your critique!)

Since the book "1984" of Orwell we know that "Ignorance is strength"...
Indeed History is taught to us by the power in place, to program us, and it's easy to realize that History is not taught the same on various countries...
I firmly keep this in mind, and I study History because it is very interesting how mankind evolved. But you have to do your researches, do not trust what you've told by the TV for instance... from the authorities, you get pure propaganda.
Now is the moment of Awakening
