I don't know that I agree that its a false choice, just merely the Modus Operendi for many. For some, its merely a label to describe the mood and tone of a specific philosophy or religion.
As a Hermetic myself, I don't really require the labels but I use them when I feel its appropriate to direct thought.
I recognize the ebb and flow of Shatki and Shiva in us all. There is a time to dance, and a time to observe the dance and learn from it.

Interesting blog. I understand where he's coming from. I, too, use some "right hand path material" in my Left Hand Path pursuits, such as Christianity and Buddhism. Although, I think it's easy to find the LHP seeds within anything if we look deeply enough. The word "theosis" alone is proof of that.
