just ordered a copy of All and Everything: Beelzebub's Tales to His Grandson. this is the next book i'm going to read and will hopefully get my creative juices flowing for my own esoteric writing.
since we already have a long thread on Beelzebub's Tales, i thought i'd start a secondary thread for my own observations... although everyone is free to jump on in with comments or questions.

Awesome! I am still only a quarter of the way through the book as it seems to be the speed I need to be reading it at. I have never read a book this slowly in my life! My husband read it years ago and went straight through it. He did not get out of it what I did. He thought that Gurjeiff took too long to get to his point....but I disagree. I think the way it is written is designed to force one out of ones normal way of thought. It actually feels to me as if it causes different thought patterns. I am aware that by working the exercises I am affecting my my ways of thought as well.....but the book just seems to get me back on track every time I wander, almost the way your great Sigil works. If you do the work it aids you. Amazing device that Meta Sigil. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I have. I would never have even looked at the 4th Way if you had not presented it to me. I do not think I would have accepted it because of its christian origins....but introduced by you, with your Satanic philosophies?....well that was another matter entirely. I cannot wait to hear your observations.

received it a few days ago and got half way through the first chapter. or maybe it was just the prologue/introduction? anyways, i've read about 25 pages. i didn't count on it being written in that kind of style... it reads very antiquated and out-dated. haven't come to anything valuable yet, let alone invaluable. i hope it begins to shine soon.
i'm going to try reading a big chunk by next week and post more then. i'm also busy reading a couple books in the Killer Poker series. this philosophy is seeping into my esoteric mind... i must aggressively dominate the game (and life) whenever possible. "go big or go home!" that's one of the prime lessons.

I tend to really enjoy the antiquated writing style. I should have mentioned that when I was touting the book. I think it is a hard book to read as his writing style is weird...I finally understood it to be his attempt to share the way his thought processes worked. So you could understand how very different his way of seeing things were for that time period. I do believe the book is a bit dated just as the Satanic Bible is now....but the philosophies are still sound and can be built upon. But, that is my perspective...it may not jive with yours. I am so looking forward to hearing your further thoughts on this. Ia Cthulhu!
