Well yes, Venger, I agree with what you say that the average person as far removed from consciousness. But I can assure you that once you experience a glimpse of true consciousness and it occurs more and more, even only for a short moment, it has such a massive impact on you and what you consider as your reality that nothing is the same as it was before. And there is no way back either, it's just accept and move on. Words become futile in the light of a conscious moment. As for examining the impression we leave on the Formless Black Essence, well we can call it whatever we want but what about the impression we leave on ourselves unless you consider that to be our essence. I have been on quite a few forums this year and all I can see return is the same essence in a different coating. Just proves that nobody really knows and that it is really up to ourselves to find out and remember. Just a thought, I don't know...

while i believe that is (or can be) true, i also know how easy it is to forget everything. conscious beings fall back into old habits, reverting to machines.
when you consider that every person alive has experienced at least a handful of conscious moments, why are 99% of people still asleep? this is what happens without a school. when individuals work alone, it is inevitable that sleep takes over. Awakening is too difficult without aid. this is a cornerstone of the 4th way.

i only bring this up because it's important not to take the work dogmatically. understanding the essence of the 4th way is better than adhering to every letter yet losing the big picture. I don't really apply dogmatism to any philosophy, I look at everything philosophically anyway. I was just looking for feedback; on my understandings of what I have read thus far. I have that whole shopping cart going on for me anyway, 'take what you need, and abandon the rest!' Noted, I would have done it my own way anyway, even if I was told 'Do it this way....' :-)
