Alien-demon-thing comrades,
I have a problem with how the Jihad has been playing out.
If it was just a clarification against certain harmful ideas/practices, that would be great. I think that IS *part* of what the Jihad is. We’ve dissed certain flaws of Modern Satanism. We’ve dissed the idea that biological racism has a place in the LHP, or at least the weird idea that it should be a requirement.
Also, unfortunately, it seems to have been just a process of creating contention with groups to the point that they are utterly polluting our social network. Stupid arguments are the reason I left SIN and joined the CoC; looks like they followed me but a lot of that is honestly our fault.
Every post, every second spent on the ONA could instead be dedicated to focusing on people’s personal climb toward Awakening, or to ritual education, which is often much more effective visually than textually.
I am absolutely shocked that while trying to assimilate another group, we still have no clear central statement of WHO WE ARE posted clearly on the main website. Given that everyone involved in that has already written their/our thoughts on it, this should have been done five days ago. This is not hard. A clear statement of who we are is a mix of both the backbone and the face (a grotesque anatomy) of every successful group.
We need to get real. We are not recruiting anyone by stirring up troll riots on our own forums. The overwhelming majority of the new accounts on the social network have been mass-produced troll accounts. I know some of you think everyone should just fend for themselves, but I believe in a collaborative process of helping people learn. Literally the entire rest of the world will be hostile to Cultists and their beliefs, so our forums should be the one inner sanctum where they can learn and grow without dealing with counter-productive antagonism. Not everyone has the bulldozer-like confidence of the Priesthood/Venger. It is a great goal and not an omnipresent reality. When most sane users see troll shitfests, even if they are inclined towards Lovecraft and magic and the LHP, they walk away. Not all publicity is good publicity, not when it drives away our kindred souls. We are potentially giving up our chance to incorporate solid people.
In the CoC I value the learning, the magic, the challenge to self-construction and discussion of results, the growing, and also the personal attention/fellowship which unfortunately does not yet exist for the majority of our forum-goers but which we could help construct. I do NOT value the pathetic micro-group vs micro-group bickering that plagues every idiotic little club I have ever sprinted away screaming from. To engage in this spectacle at the same time as claiming to support LHP Unification would be funny if it wasn’t making a joke of the group I’m in.
We do not have the weight, pull, magical strength, or numbers to literally destroy the things we don’t like in the LHP. For now all we can do is build ourselves, and do that in a way which excludes the things we dislike. If we build ourselves well, others will follow our example. THAT is how we can support Jihad and Unification at the same time. In my own way, I am trying to do exactly that -- focus on building to the exclusion of all else -- and I admit that even this statement is a deviation from it. However the Jihad and its interaction with the ONA is such a preoccupation of social network discussion (while it could be preoccupied with the Fourth Way or ritual) that I felt it necessary to speak up.
Finally, I know this may be obnoxious timing on my part, to do this in the middle of the Jihad, but it’s not like I was exactly consulted about the wisdom of either the Jihad overall, or the specific phase of laying into the ONA. Having not been consulted during its planning, I feel no obligation to stay on board with it during its execution.
