It occurred to me that ambitious Cultists should seek to be published in some form or another. Doesn't matter if it's an article, artwork, a ritual, fiction, poetry, music/film review etc. Whatever your strong suit is.
I'm going to list various venues for publication (so far whatever came to mind) and keep adding to it with the help of your suggestions. Obviously, the Green Trapezoid is probably the easiest Cult-friendly spot for your work. However, there are probably hundreds of suitable magazines, e-zines, journals, websites, blogs, books, and so forth where you could publish original creative material.

High Priest Satanis, as one who is published and has produced a large body of written work, can you offer any advice on the art of writing? This question also goes out to anyone who has written/produced art/ec and has been published before.
I ask because I'm sure that many Cultists have a few good articles/stories/etc rattling around in their head but might be lacking the know-how to translate it from their mind to the page. I'm sure that with a little advice and some confidence that many of our brothers and sisters could be producing a wide range of publishable material.

Well said Lord Satanis. I'm in the process of writing a book of dark poetry which will be published mid-October. Just in time for Halloween. Which is one reason I've been absent of lately from the forums. I also plan on including several pages of philosophical and dark quotes as supplementary. All of which I've written on my own.
I find it important to be able to create within my life.

How about we focus on submitting poetry and short fiction to the Green Trapezoid, and then we can reprint the best of Green Trapezoid poetry and short fiction in a year or two from now.
When it comes to writing fiction and non fiction alike...
1. Write a little bit every day.
2. Write something that deeply interests you.
3. After you've finished writing, make sure the results are what you would enjoy reading.
4. Consider your audience.
5. Look for flow, as well as, good grammar. If you have trouble with determining the flow of your writing, then read it aloud. If you're having trouble with grammatical errors, do a little research on the English language; worth your time.
6. Revise, revise, revise.
7. It may take awhile to find your own particular style, your voice... but I assure you it will come.

Master Satanis, Very well written advise!!! I have been writing vampire fiction short stories for many years now and your guidelines give info that took me years to cultivate on my own. In fact, I got so frustrated trying to get my works published that I said to hell with it and started to publish my own home printed magazine. It did very well for a while till I started running into technical difficulties..i.e. printers breaking down and such. Awake!

Does the Green Trapizoid offer payment? Would I get a free issue if one of my submissions was accepted?

The Green Trapezoid is a web-based publication, and all submissions are voluntary. Down the road, if readership and submissions increase, we may try to produce a more involved publication. For now, the Green Trapezoid is another venue for those who are interested to share their creative talents.
