So far I have found some of the concepts to be silly and circular, but self-observation and self-remembering I have found rather useful.

You have 8 hours to make 4 vases, or you can use that time to just make one vase.
What will equate to a more aesthetic result?

If you are new to making vases, then obviously 8 hours focused on one vase makes a lot more sense. However, if you have taken the time to practice and master your craft to a certain level, then I'm sure smashing out 4 vases in 8 hours won't be too much of a problem, and even a legitimate challenge.
