So I decided to come across this form a Westernized Asian point of view.

Am I a Racist?

I came to New Zealand from Hong Kong in 1985 when I was five.

I consider myself a British Citizen who moved from one Brisish Colony to a former Bristish Colony.

In the late 1970s China opened its doors both way and hence the Asian Invasion world wide and I am once of those asians that emmigrated overseas.

At that time in NZ, you had mainly Chinese from southern China and Hong Kong who spoke mainly Cantonese and In NZ you could tell who was what race and as the year progress you could see the immigration trends, Chinese, Japaese, Koreans, Europeans, Islanders etc.

The in the mid 90s you couldn't tell who was who.

Your Samoan.
No I'm Tongan

Your Japnese
No I'm Korean

etc

When I was growing up everyone knew Chinese spoke Cantones in NZ, then in from the mid 90s onwards I speak Chinese and they start speaking Mandarin and I'm like um I speak Cantonese.

One of my fond memories was this car load of white people throwing mandarins at me and I cracked up laughing cos I spoke Cantonese.

I also remember thinking and telling everyone that all the ethnic gang problems that Australia, USA and Britain was experiencing was going to happen in NZ cos the NZ government was too dumb too learn from older countries.

We now are in the midst of serious ethnic crime problems!!!

(New Zealand our are bunch of green fingered hippies who are deep down inside RACIST PREJUDICED FUCKING REDNECKS!!!! I should know, been here most of my life!!!!)

When I was growing up I was a semi celebrity in school due to me and my two sisters were the only Asian family attending the same school, so I grew up with the crazy Asian your so cool vibe.

Then as more Asian immigrants came to NZ slowly us already established Asians in NZ go dumped into the new immigrants class.

A lot of well established Asians in NZ now struggling being dumped into the new immigrant class and feel out of place and unwanted.

I had hew racial slurs growing up.

Fast forward to early 2000s when I worked at a Vietnamese Restaurant where I continually got frowned upon cos I couldn't speak my own native tongue well or a whole table left the restaurant cos we didn't serve Chinese food, I was floored and couldn't take it well getting dissed by my own race.

Then I understood how two faced Asians can be, just because a Asian is nice and smile at you does not mean they like you.

Most Asians are very good at bowing down to the image of the hard working polite Asian when in fact they are devious back stabbing cunts!!!

I have learnt that the hard way after working at two ethnic restaurants, it is not fun being the only non northern Chinese Asian left due to speak really good English and that all they need you for!!!
And watching your fellow non northern Asian co workers get the sack one by one.

I started listening to Skrewdriver (a White Power band) during this time and I trust skinheads and people who hate other races more than people who pretend that they are race loving people.

I don't believe in race marches and have no desire to go to one.

I don't like ethnic people much due to they can't look past their own skin colour and be themselves truly and fully due to Western and most importantly their own races expectations how they should behave and act and what job they should have in order to fit into the stereotypical image on how a Westernized Ethnic should be!!!

If you combine the movies Pleasantville and Joy Luck Club that sums up what growing up in a Westernized Ethnic Society is like.

Very suffocating.

You white people don't know how lucky you guys are!!!

Being mentally abused (especially my your mum) that your not good enough and why don't you be more like your cousins and study har d and have jobs like your cousins eg,doctors and lawyers and accountants etc etc.

Being constantly nagged at to be more respectable etc etc

The scene in Joy Luck Club where the daughter grows up and stops playing the piano in a fit of rage and never plays it again.

The reason why that is, is cos we Asian stop playing piano for life due to the horrible memories of being constantly mentally abused that we are never good enough!!!

I realized last year that my oldest sister was the sanest of us all, she moved to Wellington and never came back and it took me a few years to follow suit and the middle sister by default has got the Asian task of looking after our parents for life!!!

Asians are one of the most superstitious, xenophobic and full of tall wife tales ever dimwits ever!!!

It is no fun listening to people nag you how you should put the toilet bowl down before you flush it in case you flush good luck away! and that you shouldn't eat chilli cos it makes you go blind!!

The racial incidents in North West of China is a goof example why China is not ready to be a full democractic country.

If you guys want another (former) Yugoslavia and Rwanda, be my guest and do all you can to get China to become a Decmocracted country.

Trust me on this, China is not ready for it cos if it does China is going to be racked with Civil Wars and race against race; the southern Chinese hate the northern Chinese and vice versa; Shanghai is basically a country of its own; then you have got the North Western ethnic problems; Inner Mongolia being divided in two, one half wanting to remain with China and their other wanting to remain independent; the other autonomous region and not to mention Tibet.

After all said and done China wont look like a rooster anymore, but revert to the same land mass before China was united as a whole all those centuries ago.

That is why China must remain as it has all else the Yellow River will run a glorious red.

On the other hand I am in the process of getting back in touch of my cultural heritage.

It is going to be a tough ask as I still have a major issue with Asians thinking all their is to life is towing the ethic line and not being brave enough to be them self's fully.

I am also scared and paranoid of going overseas as I have a pantera style haircut, piercings and tattoes and normally dressed in rock and metal t shirts with black shorts and boots.

I dreading going through customs as I know I will have a high rate of getting searched due to I look like a Asian gang member and shit nervous going to Asian countries and being followed and locked up cos I'm too different as an Asian

Wow! I don't think your overtly racist so much as just paranoid. I mean, granted a lot of that paranoia is warranted as they probably would consistently search you for drugs and contraband.

There is an interesting advantage to being white as white is white (in most cases). But it was not always so. For over a hundred years, the British fought the French. Twice in the last century, the British (and others) fought the Germans. The Germans fought the French before on several occasions in the past. And for nearly two centuries, the British have been fighting the Irish on and off. I think it's also interesting to note that I have all four blood lines within my veins... See! It is possible for us all to get along!

I understand some of what you say, because I had two close friends in High School that were Cantonese. They were first Gen Aussies, so no 'accents'. I spent a lot of time in their homes.

I think I have a problem with any immigrant group that doesn't assimilate into the main culture, and cluster into ethnic enclaves. Shit, we have groups in Australia that don't speak a word of English.

NSW has a big problem with the various Arab immigrants.

Most of the people born here, the kids want to assimilate, but are tied down a lot by old fashion parents.
