Hello everyone. I would just like to introduce myself as a new member.
I would first like to discuss my religious history, why I have turned to the left hand path and where I am so far. I was born a Christian, Roman Catholic to be exact, and has lived as one for the majority of my life. I have never really understood Christianity and felt that it may not be the right belief for me.
A couple of years ago I started going to University and made some friends who were atheists. They were able to show me all of the loopholes in Christianity, as well as the negative influences. After much research into the matter I discerned that all religion must be false as there are too many loopholes. At the time I did not know about Satanism, or any Pagan religions, other than what was mentioned falsely in the Bible. Over time I felt that being an Atheist didn't feel right. I felt somewhat empty, not wanting to accept that I'm just a tiny meaningless ant crawling around in the abyss. Eventually I would die, and thats that; theres no afterlife, nothing. I wanted to believe in something. After looking into some issues into the Occult I realized that there could very well be something outside of our physical realm. Just because you can't prove the spiritual realm exists doesn't mean it doesn't. For example, we use empirical testing, and scientific theory of the physical world around us. Religion is something outside of our physical ream and therefore can't be proven with our physical scientific methods. Through my turmoil I have had two significant dreams, one that was just a reflection of my delemma, but the other may have some significance. I will discuss about these two dreams in a different post! I began searching for what I truly wanted. It seems coincidence that I began talking to a Satanist over youtube. I was watching a music video for Belphegor (a satanic death metal band) and decided to ask why people really believe in satan? I mean believing in Satan means you burn in hell, if hell even exists for that matter. I was shown that my assumptions were wrong, as the bible is wrong. I learned that Satanism is much more. It gives you the right of individuality and does not control you like the RHP. Also there are many rewards and challenges that you face in being a Satanists.
I have chosen to be a Satanist because this is the path that will allow me to grow both personally and spiritually. I have not dedicated myself, but I intend to in the near future. In the mean time I would like to learn more. I'm not sure as to whether Cult of Cthulhu is the right path for me, but I do know that theistic Satanism in general is. Currently I am a member of "Satan's Army" forum, which is a traditional theistic Satanism group. I hope that by becoming a member here I can learn and maybe commit myself to being a full time member of this cult.
A little bit about myself. I am a 21 year old male that lives in Saskatchewan, Canada. I am currently going undertaking studies at the University of Saskatchewan. I currently in my third year of my Engineering Degree, with my Major in Civil Engineering (design of buildings, roadways, water resources and water treatment, earthwork structures, etc.) I have chosen to do this because I enjoy problem solving and applying my skills and knowledge to design the environment around me. I like Civil Engineering because it gives me a good variety of work and has large scale projects. I hope one day to be a successful engineer. In May I will have a 16 month internship with a company to get some experience. After that I will just complete my last year or two (might get a communications add on).
I enjoy going to the gym, as it is a good way to stay healthy and relieve stress from the world. I also enjoy listening to Metal, mostly death metal and black metal. I used to take martial arts, actually had my black belt in karate. Though I do not partake in this anymore because I don't quite have the time commitment.
I would like to thank you guys for reading this post and understanding where I come from. I hope to grow as a person and live life to the fullest.
