I'm no astrophysicist, but I do enjoy good science news. Back in 2007 this was quite an exciting find. For those with Lovecraftian beliefs, it was taken as a sign. Not a bad thought as the picture shows: It was originally thought that this "green blob" was giving birth to new stars. However, NASA has said that, based on evidence from the Hubble Telescope, this is not the case. I enclose an article from "The DailyTech." It looks like the green blob is trying to catch the falling Galaxy lol. But that is beautiful.
