As many of you know, and the date to the left will tell you, I am new to the Cult. In my short time here, I have seen some amazing work done by certain cultists and I wish to congratulate them.
However, some others seem to ask questions that, if they had read the Bibles, would already be answered. I must admit myself as probably one of the culprits. My advice to all is to consult our Sacred Texts before asking what may end up being a stupid question.
Lord Satanis has done an excellent job at making quite clear the nature, aims, and theology of the Cult. My advice to other new comers is to read the Texts before you ask a question. 9 times out of 10 you will find your answer.
Hail Satanis

So true. Ill read through either the Bibles or the forum at least once a day to become better aquainted with some of the basics. Most questions can be found answered in there.

One thing I can suggest for new comers is if after you read the threads & still have a question or you're still confused about a certain subject, PM one of the "elders" here on CoC. That way we are not wasting any more space. If your not sure who to go to try looking at the members page & see who's been here the longest. - Lilth When the stars are right!

I'm well aware of that thank you, however I clearly stated look up the members who have been here the "longest". That would begin with Lord Satanis, I presume he would have quite a bit of knowledge on these subjects.. as well as most of the members that have been around as long as him.
- Lilth Hail Cthulhu!

Sister, you bring up a good point. However, my point was that if one took the time to read Cthulhu Cult and Liber A:O, many questions that a noob like me would bring up would be answered. Take this example: There is currently a thread about The Angles of Uoon'Kalool. Now, a noob reading that thread and not having read Cthulhu Cult would be completely baffled as to what in the nine hells the fellow cultist was referring to. My purpose in posting this was to encourage new comers to read the Scriptures for themselves and for some of the old hats to take another look. In my humble noob opinion, we (and I include myself in that) waste a lot of time and energy going back over information that is already at our fingertips. As for contacting other cultists for advice or council, that is a great idea. However, where one cultist might be happy to help a noob, another might find it irksome or annoying. I guess it's just my style to try to figure it out on my own. We seem to have gotten away from my original intentions: a) remark on the fantastic knowledge in the Scriptures; b) give my fellow noobs a place to check before opening our mouths. However, in that spirit, I also feel that I should point out the website: www.cultofcthulhu.net. I stumbled upon the forum first and didn't find the mysterious website everyone kept referencing for 2 days. In conclusion: there is a lot of information out there. Be excited; I know I am. Awake, Ikaros
