Greetings! Brothers, please forgive my lack of introduction before my first post. In retrospect, reading the rules and protocols would have been a better first thing to do.
My path began in extreme fundamentalist Christianity. I was never truly home there, as the beliefs and the evidence never lined up adequately. I believe that will be the ultimate downfall of that heresy: people will realize that the "Word" they cling to is too ambiguous to support their beliefs
Now, I seek to please the Old Ones. I began work in a traditional wiccan format and gained my third degree. However, I was unsatisfied with the gaping questions that simple fairy stories couldn't answer and turned to other paths. I learned much from the small Spiritualist community near me, but ultimately was sickened by their devotion to "New Age-ism."
I have studied Lovecraft's works since my teens, quite parallel to my magical working. When my studies turned to Chaos Magic, those two worlds collided. I must say it has changed my life and I am extremely grateful for it.
I have searched for a way to connect with like minded individuals as most in the pagan community in my area are what I affectionately call "psychic cupcakes." While they are tasty, they are hardly satisfying.
I feel that I bring to the group a certain level of academic study and a great appreciation for nuance and subtlety. I do not enjoy flaming or starting pointless fights, but I do like to stick to facts, evidence, and logic. In a world of madness, we must frame our world with whatever we can, even if we know them to be artificial.
Currently, my studies have delved into balancing the Ego self and the Magician self. I will not lie, my Ego can be overactive; however, my current goal aims to bring it into alignment with the many selves.
I greatly appreciate the opportunity to join this group and hope that I have adequately satisfied the requirement for an introduction.
By the bloody tongue of Nyarlathotep!
