cute naming idea, and i dont see why not celebrate, because the original reason of the holiday (birth of christ) seems to have been lost in time and is now very comercilized, now its just a nice time to get your friends and loved ones nice presents to show how you care, or go on cool overpriced trips out of town, i personaly have off from school, so thats reason enough for me to celebrate! plus its said what comes around goes around, so......need i say more!?^^

How do the posts above from today have anything to do with the Great Work? Lord Satanis reminded us all this morning that Sunday's are restricted to only posting about topics pertaining to the Great Work, yet several individuals today have completely disregarded this rule/guideline.
Why is that?
How disrespectful is it to enter into a man's "home" and throw his "house rules" out of his own window? If you must have these types of discussions on Sunday, please do so through PM and show a little more respect to our Teacher.

Well, I dunno about anyone else, but I live in New Zealand. And it has been Monday here for 15 and a half hours. I'm not disrespecting anyone Ia! Ia! Cthulhu fhtagn! That's true, I never really specified time zones and such. Thanks for private messaging me about that, Ny'obstaresh. Today, or rather yesterday, I'm allowing all your non-Work posts because for you it is already Monday.
However, next week will be a different story. After due consideration, it isn't fair (or gives an unfair advantage) to those operating so far outside the average poster's time zone. Plus, it's going to be a god damn nightmare for me to take into account everyone's individual time zone. From now on, I'm solely going by North American central standard time. Be mindful of this when posting, or it might get deleted. FYI, I just "wasted" 45 minutes of my time trashing posts that would otherwise be perfectly acceptable. Please think before you publicly display your thoughts and feelings!
Before I go, a word about what this little exercise is trying to accomplish. The Cult of Cthulhu's primary reason for existing is to Awaken humanity, not for discussing the latest movie or Cthulhu cake recipe. Therefore, we should focus (at least one day a week) on posts geared towards our evolutionary development... right?
What else can be said about our slimy green sabbath exercise? Obstacles are good, having reasons for stopping are good, friction is good, questioning ourselves is good, evaluating our output is good, putting ourselves under restrictions can also be good. Doing things automatically because we've gotten into the habit, into a particular routine is usually bad. Obviously, adhering to this wisdom might aid us in Awakening, but let's get into practical details, the deep down nitty gritty. Can anyone tell me why this is?

Hmm. I have to admit, I cannot see how it's an "unfair advantage" for me to be able to post in my own time zone. If anything, this too is a matter of practicality. If I want to post something on a Monday, I then have to wait for everyone else to catch up with my 'time zone' (and time is only a theory anyway...)? In any other instance, having to wait around for others would be seen as being held back by them. That seems unfair. Another case of minority versus majority. I agree that it is important to think a post through before actually posting it. I'm confident in saying that nothing I posted yesterday (My Monday) was pointless and is in keeping with this logic of supporting my fellow Cultists and providing advice and opinions for those who ask for it, as I'm sure any decent senior member would know better. I only post when I have something to say - it is not my intention to waste anyone's time, let alone my own. I do understand what you're saying about it being good to have obstacles - I agree completely. However, it doesn't seem right that the Cult's majority should be an obstacle itself. Obstacles need to be dealt with in order to progress, so if we follow this train of thought, how do I deal with this particular obstacle? Well, I could get angry and leave the forum. But this wouldn't really help anyone, let alone the Cult, and is adverse to my nature anyway. I could bow to the obstacle and let it interrupt the practicality of my own life. This too goes against my natural instinct and my true will, as why should my life be made more difficult than it needs to be simply because I do not live in America? Why should my thoughts, advice and opinions be withheld while I wait for everyone else to "catch up"? So the option I am left with is to work through the obstacle, which I am obviously attempting at the moment. So where do I end up? Back at the opinion that my time zone is relevant and should be taken into account. We're the first country in the world to start a new day, so I would have to wait a considerable length of time before my thoughts can be heard, just to catch up with US cultists. And I come back to the conclusion that this isn't fair on me (or anyone else from New Zealand, Australia, etc.) and is another individual-against-the-masses situation, in the same way that the dark magi minority are against the Light-loving masses. Do not think I am speaking out of anger. This is definitely not the case. I am simply voicing my thoughts and opinions on this matter, which does affect us all, in the hopes that we can arrive at a fair, logical and mutually beneficial agreement. I do not have much time for logic in my Magick and art, but when it comes to social situations I believe it is relevant. Ia! Ia! Cthulhu fhtagn!

I still celebrate christmas!, Its the one time of year besides Thanksgiving that me and my family become one and are the happiest people on our planet! AWAKE! If only it were so easy... I hate most of the members of my family and I see Christmas as simply a time to give them "Lip service" and get a few presents while I'm at it...

No, you are not speaking out of anger but mechanicality.
I'm glad you posted your thought process, brother. You almost had it. You identified the two ordinary options, the familiar dichotomy. But then just before you were able to complete the interval and rise above, your mechanical nature retreated back down the Octave.
In this instance, the third side is to embrace the obstacle. Use it, will it, own it! Realize that you are absolutely free to post whatever you like, whenever you like... as long as your words are aligned with Higher Forces. For that is the greatest freedom any of us can hope to attain. The time zone chasm you face is a blessing in disguise for it gives you yet another opportunity to do what does not come natural, to chafe against your everyday self. Make efforts alien to the ordinary way of doing things.
This kind of result is the exact reason I enacted the Slimy Green Sabbath exercise! Now we have created action, the seeds of Viridian Sorcery.

A Christmas tree is green. I like to imagine it as a gate way for Cthulhu to enter.
Santa might represent a lower force that's for sure. I used to call him "The currency, consumer Claus". But thats when I hated all things civilized.
