Ha, the mind is amazing!
Thanks a lot for posting about your experience here.
I will have more to say later, i love this sorta thing, strange phenomena.
Have you tried researching sleep paralysis to see if this is like something others may have experienced? (others who experience sleep paralysis that is)

I am glad to see that I am not the only one that experiences these types of 'strong dream-states'. I'm a musician myself, and because of these 'dream-like' phenomena that occur right before I hit Delta wave sleep, I am inspired to create songs, of just music. I can't really even begin to measure how much rhythm and music elevate the mind during a magickal working, all I can say is that the intense emotional, spiritual and mental effect of music is beyond measure, if one allows themselves to flow with sound. To explain, right before I hit dream-sleep, I am immediately paralyzed, like you are, I cannot breathe, speak or open my eyes. It is like I am held in that place, and a strong presence is felt all around me, the presence of undiluted darkness. Sometimes I hear a note or melody evolve into a wonderfully dark rhapsody or ballad, and I am amazed. And sometimes, I am stricken to my core with fear from sheer silence and the feeling of benign intent. I can't explain it, I am in the same boat as you, but I can share the fact that our experiences are very similar.
