Well it would (in my belief) be futile to write invocations for the Unspeakable One, he does as he pleases and roams free. It is not you that establishes rapport with Him, it is Him that establishes rapport with you.

I would love to see this!! I'd like to see some invocations for Glaaki and Atlach-Naccha, they are two of my favorites. Shub Niggurath would be nice as well.
Please do this, i'll even help you get it out there.

Lisbent, I disagree with you. My understanding of the word 'invocation' is this:
–noun 1. the act of invoking or calling upon a deity, spirit, etc., for aid, protection, inspiration, or the like; supplication. 2. any petitioning or supplication for help or aid. 3. a form of prayer invoking God's presence, esp. one said at the beginning of a religious service or public ceremony. 4. an entreaty for aid and guidance from a Muse, deity, etc., at the beginning of an epic or epiclike poem.
As such, in my opinion, all that Herald G'pock Thoth's invocation does is act as an invitation, for whatever Great Old One it is an invocation to, to come and be present. It isn't something that can force the Ancient Ones to do anything because they can't be forced by anyone - especially humans. It is merely a statement that the caller wishes to communicate.
To use a phone analogy, it is simply calling someone with caller ID. If they want to answer then they can freely do so. It makes no sense to me to sit around wanting to talk to someone when you can take action yourself and initiate the call first.

I don't see any problem with using the creative endeavor to write things in the name of the King in Yellow-the very act will get his attention, the invoking is to frighten and awe "non-cultist types". It is my experience with the King in Yellow that if you are fond of him, he's already got a hand on your shoulder. Adoration is great, who doesn't love adoration-however, my advice for anyone seeking to garner favor from Hastur is to do the "good work". He's there, pushing you toward it, just listen and do. The rewards are plentiful and the satisfaction great.
Awake. Not just for sleeping anymore.

To use the phone analogy; would you ring or text a friend sitting next to you? Surely it would merely serve as a jest or worse a spiteful jest.

But surely the absence of reply cannot be the purpose of texting now can it?
But i digress, surely good can come of an invocation in Hasturs favour. I have merely never had the use of such a thing. To each his own.
