I had some realizations today. There is no Higher Purpose inherent in suffering.
People like to think that there is. People say: This person was born severely disabled because of a past life behaviour. Yet I doubt there is anyone setting in judgment of this. This just happened. There was no higher purpose to it. It's a shitty crappy thing that happened.
People have this sadistic desire to make sure you 'earn' your way, or that you work hard. But when you examine closely these people, rarely do they make it hard for themselves.
There is no higher purpose in suffering and punishment. These can continue for countless eons of rebirths. Suffering over and over and over.
The higher purpose is beyond suffering.
Although a person can use suffering to make them see reality better, or to 'break through', it is not a given that they will.
People can chose to be just as ignorant as they were before the suffering. The point is not the suffering.
In fact, a Lack of Higher purpose would be a defining characteristic of suffering.

People have this sadistic desire to make sure you 'earn' your way, or that you work hard. Although a person can use suffering to make them see reality better, or to 'break through', it is not a given that they will. It is usually a two-way street here. Rarely when you are "wronged" by someone close to you do you turn the other cheek. Many people feel the need to put someone that has wronged them through a series of tests, of humiliating conversations, and demand justice for the wrong-doing. We sugar-coat the emotional reaction we are having by justifying the need for the lesson; we must make them prove their purpose once again. Why? If they pass the "tests," does that make them any more trustworthy; does it lessen the "wrongdoing?" Or are you just fishing for an excuse to justify getting even? The sadistic desire to make them earn their way back into our good graces is just another negative emotional response; fighting fire with fire. In the end, all get burned. People can chose to be just as ignorant as they were before the suffering. The point is not the suffering. Now, this is not to say that, if you have been wronged, you should remain in a situation where you can continually be taken advantage of. However, the suffering you are perpetuating by reacting in kind only keeps you just as engrossed in the suffering as they are rather than allowing the both of you to move past it. Awake! Through stress and suffering you learn much about yourself. There is an increased sense of awareness. You see your positives and negatives and if any adjustments need to be made. Stress and suffering really get those creative juices flowing Master Satanis, himself is independent, self sufficient, and very proactive. Look at what he has created here, his videos ,a newspaper, and radio appearances, and still makes time for people. I know this cause I met him at the MCOS and began a dialog which led me here to this community. Everything requires work. You would not be here if you did not want to develop intellectual and emotional strength. I think you realize that you can't even perform lesser magic without first mastering yourself. You have made a very positive step forward by putting your thoughts out there for other members of the community to respond to. Even in my retirement years I still do this. The opinions of others is very useful to me. It helps keep me well rooted. Hail Satanis !
