I decided to make a topic on this due to the conversations about this book.
I dont agree with what he has to say 100% but it is a Good book.
The main focus are the Gods Azathoth, Nyarlathotep,
Yog-Sothoth, Yig, Shub-Niggurath, Cthulhu, and Dagon.
The way of Shub-Niggurath is through glamorie, suduction, and tantric magick.
The way of Dagon is more of the path of the scholarly cerimonial high mage, close to being what one might call a wizard.
The way of Yog-Sothoth involves mastery of the Astral.
The way of Nyarlathotep is Necromancy.
The way of Azathoth is close to the practices of Zen, stilling the mind, mastering no-mind, becomming the void.
The way of Yig is basically the path of the yogi. Of discipline and self control.
The way of Cthulhu is the path of the warrior. Become like the great Warpriest of the Old Ones. Train yourself to fight physically in warfare through practice of firearms, martial arts, etc.
And train yourself to have a diamond-edged will. I will go more into Cthulhu from this point on.
The followers of Cthulhu must be strong of mind and body. Cthulhu favors the brave and devoted. Victory in battle, he rewards you, defeat less so, but fleeing if you choose his path will piss him off.
Pray to Cthulhu for Strength of mind and body.
Although sleeping beneath the waves, those who seek him through prayer and invocation can connect with his dreaming mind. He will find you in your dreams if you are his deciple, where he teaches you courage and fortitude.
An image of Cthulhu must be held in the mind persistantly. Doing so mantains your link with him.
At some point he will chalenge you. Either pass or fail you will. But if you fail and learn and grow from it, you also pass the test. If you give up, look elsewhere, for he only is interested in the sincere and those steadfast in the heart.
If you wish to be a soldier of Cthulhu, have his seal tattooed on your skin. Those of Cthulhu are also made to act as guardians of the temple, and enforcers of discipline.
His holy symbol is the trapezoid (not his seal, however).
His seal, if you cannot find it, I will attempt to describe it.
The Top part is two squares connected from the bottom right of the left square to the bottom left of the right square by a U shape. and arrow is going between the middle of the seal.
[]^[] Gives you a genearal idea of where the arrow is placed.
Ok now imagine the shaft of the arrow going downwards.
A little past the U shape the arrow shaft goes, and just above the bottom of the upward arrow a horizontal line intersects. It is ALMOST the lenth acrost from one square to another, but a little shorter.
[]^[]
...U
v-|-v
OK this figure above is PRETTY damn close. Only the line of the arrow extends down through the U to that point, the U connected to the corner of each square and the v are inverted triangles. Nevermind the dots.. had to do it like that to get it to get the U to line up.
Sorry but my scanner is having issues so I cannot scan and show you, but those who can visualize what I am trying to convey shouldnt have problems.
The seal is created by a sigilization of Cthulhu, each letter converted into a glyph listed in Tyson's book.
C looks like an enlongated U, t is an up arrow (like with runes), h is a square. l is a +.
You have to check them out yourself to see them all. They make AWSOME pictograms if you wish to create a Sigilized intent designed to become a Servitor. They have a very living look to them with some creativity.
Hell, using his pictogram, you can make a sigil for ANYTHING.
Alright, I hope this was helpful..
Remember YOURSELF, for the Emerald Kingdom IS at Hand.
