Excellent, you have said just as I suspected. Now let me enlighten you, the thought that Lovecraft first documented Cthulhu is a pure misconception. Cthulhu was actually first referenced in the holy arabic doctrine, The Koran. The Koran was delivered by the angel Gabriel. Gabriel also appears in both Christianity and Catholicism. I hope you find this knowledge as intriguing as I did, and may Cthulhu smile upon you. ;D That all depends on how you are interpreting the Qur'an. I'm knowledgeable and I find very little that could correlate to the Cthulhu mythos. There's no question that Lovecraft was inspired by a variety of sources for his stories, coupled with an expansive imagination. Seeing that the Qur'an doesn't exist in written form until after the death of Muhammad, it's questionable. Some argue the djinn are the 'devils' of the Arabian tale, but that also depends on how the djinn are interpreted. Perception is everything. Oh, and welcome :-) Cora'Sahn

I'm a moderator on another site and although I love that place, I was rather disappointed in their complete inability to look past the surface of a CoC member who joined that forum. The person was banned straight away based on first-glance assumptions about CoC. Normally that site is quite open minded. I had never heard of the Cult of Cthulu nor even Lovecraft so decided to investigate to figure out what was so bad about this person. All I found was a fairly cool combination of thoughts and beliefs (VERY similar to those held by many at the other website) written in a manner that required some effort by the reader, challenging them to look beyond the veneer, to control mechanical reaction to gothic metaphor and allegory. Though the parties involved probably do not care too much, I will do my best to right this wrong. I think I'm going to like it here. On the subject of CoC, this is something that confuses me... on one hand I've read about considering others and not being angry or attatched to situations around you, and on the other, using black magic to "destroy those you hate". Can someone clarify this complete inconsistency please?? Thanks.

You have to let it out somehow I suppose. For me it's hard to explain.. I can hate someone, but not let hate wash over me, not let it rule.. I disperse it as soon as I feel the emotion instead of dweling on it, but remember that the person wronged me, so I decide to punish them. Even if I dont experiance the hate any longer, I remember it. And if I was so wronged that I cannot let go of the hate, cursing is a good release. You hex the wrong doer, and feel better because you spent that emotion in the curse, instead of bottling it up. I don't speak for everyone, this is just my two cents. Not everyone here chooses to practice black magick. That is what makes us so unique. As The High Priest put it in an interview, "Every Cultist is different, like some luminous green, wrong-angled snowflake. " I AM considerate to others, but as soon as someone wrongs me WILLFULLY, not on accident, they are hit.

i hope so. thanks for joining.
our religion is a transition. we're trying to shift gears, when necessary, from a completely materialistic ego-driven ideology to one that is more attuned to the void. if there is an irritant in your life, don't get mad... just remove what is bothering you. humans will probably always retain their "human-ness", petty emotions, insecurity, anger etc.
as i said, we're in a transitional period. some Cultists want to destroy and others want to create.

Thank-you for the welcomes. As for the situation on the other board...it is too late for decisions to be revered but I gave them something to think about. Hopefully they won't be so quick to close their eyes from others next time.

That is true but oooh, how the Called Ones DO get us from time to time. That is true as well! We do seem to be growing, slowly, but I "see" more new faces apearing than old ones disapearing as of late.

Yeah. Speaking of people online.... I still speculate if most of the internet users arent doing; Poker or the likes Warcraft or the likes Dating or the likes and those most likely ultra monitored chat thingies everone use, MSN or whats it called. It has become so......um......they have changed the internet to fit the consumer masses. I dont see as many people ANYWHERE i go online as i would expect from a civilization as wide as the one we live in. Same thing in the flesh world. Consumers have become better consumers. Everybody knows where to go and what to use their money on. ;D And its all they do all day every day. Earn, purchase, consume is the mantra of today, lol Ok, i'll stop now, sorry about jibberishing. ;D ;D

Um, not sure where to ask this...how do you retrieve a message that has been sent to you? When changing pages here, I sometimes see...really fast...something about messages, but then it's gone. Thanks.

to Awaken from the sleep of life. if you want to escape from the prison you find yourself in, that all of us are in, then you've come to the right place. one thing you should know before continuing: a Cultist is the exception to the rule...
oh yeah, and welcome to our forum.

Maybe a grammar/IQ test should be compulsory for people who want to join the forum.
Welcome anyway, hope you find whatever you're looking for. Or something else...
I'm not mocking anybody's linguistic skills or intelligence here, it's just annoying as hell to read IRC/MSN language on a supposedly sophisticated place like this.

Hey everyone! I joined about a year ago, but then some personal issues came up, and it pretty much tore me away from this forum. But now I've finally got those issues resolved and remembered this forum, so now I'm back. ;D I already made an intro thread when I first join, so I won't make one here. If I ever do disappear again, it'll be because I got abducted by a shoggoth.
