I gratefully received and read the Cthulhu Bible and would like to pose two general questions.
In many of Venger Satanis's writings and videos he speaks of the return of the Great Old Ones. Given my limited knowledge of the Lovecraftian mythos, does this return refer to a general awakening of society in the Cthulhu Cults beliefs and their eventual rule or is it something else?
High Priest Venger Satanis also speaks of men and woman attracted to the left hand path being involved in alternative sexuality in their lusts and perversions. I wholeheartedly agree but would love to hear more about why we are drawn in and what part does our sexual lusts and perversions play in bringing us here? Submitted respectfully

Glad you joined us here at the Cult of Cthulhu discussion boards. Great questions, let me dig right in!
The return of the Great Old Ones is left intentionally vague in Lovecraft's stories. The prophet wrote of many things; Lovecraft's prophecies are enough to point us in the right direction and no more... the rest is left up to us.
However, it's clear that their homecoming will be a monumental event that will initiate world wide changes. From what we know of humanity and what the Fourth Way has taught us about the difficulty in Awakening, I'm confident that most people won't be able to handle the consciousness which the Ancient Ones offer. If Gods came to earth, then I have no doubt that they would reign supreme for as long as they continued to remain in our dimension.
Some Cultists believe their return is metaphorical... that a section of humanity will be able to create their own change. In that case, the Ancient Ones would Awaken or return inside the Cultist, or rather, his demonic soul would be transformed. That scenario would be more like a personal revelation or apocalypse rather than world wide. And yet, hundreds or maybe even thousands of Awake individuals simultaneously operating would definitely bring about global upheaval.
Perhaps it's because of our uninhibited nature. By and large, we don't live in fear of what other people think. If someone thinks of us as freaks, then that's ok.
If I was to make a more adventurous guess, I'd suppose that we are in touch with our dark side which also touches the sex center. There's something otherworldly connected to lust and perversion. Cultists are attracted to those sorts of things.
Anyone else have an opinion on either of these queries?

Given my limited knowledge of the Lovecraftian mythos, does this return refer to a general awakening of society in the Cthulhu Cults beliefs and their eventual rule or is it something else? My personal view of the return of the Great Old Ones would be a major shift in our current paradigm to a "legendary" reality, the kind of reality spoken of in myth full of awe, wonder, and fear in the potential of our world (vs. todays more stoic, limited, and crystallized paradigm). This is somewhere between High Priest Venger As'Nas Satanis's examples; not quite an embodied presence of fearsome Gods from between the Outer Angles, but also not a pure shift in mental awareness. Reality itself would be different, more akin to what we have been told of the ancient world. High Priest Venger Satanis also speaks of men and woman attracted to the left hand path being involved in alternative sexuality in their lusts and perversions. I wholeheartedly agree but would love to hear more about why we are drawn in and what part does our sexual lusts and perversions play in bringing us here? Individuals interested in the Left Hand Path tend to be less likely to follow the restrictions and limitations imposed artificially by the social order in all areas; sexuality would be no different. This is especially the case when we are told not to do something. Our individual streak urges us to challenge an authority figure telling us "no", or that something is "bad". In the case of sexuality, most of what have been told is "bad", "perverse", or "depraved" actually feels good, and has no ill effects if practiced with safety in mind other than an occasional friction-burn or welt if you are really into what you do. Not every member of the Left Hand Path gets "kinky" sexually, but since we are generally "different", it just stands to reason our difference would permeate everything we do.

The sexual freedom ( ie freedom from socially imposed morals and taboos) is just one of the many fruits which are bore from the LHP. I personally indulge in darker sexual fantasies and would definitely act upon them given I had a willing partner. Haha.
As for the return of the Old Ones. Well, what will occur remains to be seen. I do know that it'll change everything though. I really haven't thought all too much about it besides the fact that we may very well be imparted with a sort of limitless insight and wisdom. I like what Master Diabolus has to say about it.
