anything can be detrimental or fruitful depending on how something is taken. a conscious National Socialism would be superior to a sleeping Democracy. so, take that for what it's worth...

Agreed...There's always a jerk somewhere willing to screw everyone else over...
As for socialism here in this country; we may have to start slowly at first. But, it's a hopeful change...

Your right VS they all have some good ideas yet none have the proper..state of mind.
i wish we lived in a social tribal like culture with some sorta "open council" type "goverment" but i'm not gonna get into all that because, although i personally like this idea i dont see it ever really working for everyone because you said it best Lost "...theres always a jerk somewhere willing to screw everyone else over"

i agree that this is our current predicament. however, i believe that eventually... after years of daily struggle, obtaining free will is possible.
or maybe we should see it not as opposite and independent states, but many subtle levels between the two?

VS Free Will, is an imagined idea stolen from archaic idealism. While I agree we can strive to make more informed and conscious decisions about our lives and about ourselves; I do not believe it is possible to be completely free of influence. We are influenced by our environment, and our fellow humans. This makes our choices limited, and our will constantly under influence - which is not as free as people would like to believe. |

Figured I put this here to revive an old thread. Other wise I would have just titled it"Unions" to see where it went. townhall.com/columnists/howardrich/2011/03/03/why_collective_bargaining_is_bad/page/full/Pretty out outrageous I'd say, & I have looked at other sources so these stats are correct. Looks to me like people will keep their mouths shut as long as their "getting theirs". Were talking about a race that is taught by the media & advertisers to (in the words of Genner)"I've learned this much.Take what you can, when you can". Pretty fucking desperate & disgusting if you ask me. We need a complete overhaul of the human consciousness so that we can begin working together as one race instead of a bunch of selfish consumers trying to steal their part of the pie. It's all very delicate because of our attachment to titles like"Teacher & Officer or Fire Fighter" but a negotiation can be met I hope & a couple broken hearts(wallets) might bring unity. What do you all think of Unions & their demands? As for Socialism, well I'll be at a meeting this weekend in San Diego for 8hours listening to their logic since I'm in the Protests. So we'll see how that goes. Honestly Socialism seems a bit scary. Haven't decided yet though. Awake! |
