i've created this thread because i've been starting, re-starting, and generally creeping up on developing my second CoC book. just commissioned some fantastic Lovecraftian drawings from this artist i found on the Temple of Dagon forum named Shade. here's one of his sketches...
so what's this new book going to be about? specifically, it's going to be one gigantic ritual in three parts. but generally, i hope it will emphasize what the Cult is all about. should be finished with it by February 2009.
at this point, i'm starting to think about a title. maybe something like Liber A:O
feel free to post comments here and if you want to submit artwork for me to use, then private message me.

Maybe demonstrait the various uses of our meta sigil, and maybe list some seals of various A:O for those who might want to work with a particular one for different occations. You can find seals of the enemy everywhere.. we need a necronomicon that is about the A:O, not opposed to them like the others.

Great great great great, <-- i could keep on going for hours, lol I am looking forward to this like a mo'fo, the only reason i havent bugged and asked about it is because i know how "deadly" deadlines can become, and i didnt want to be a bother. ;D Even the name LIBER A:O or CODEX A:O or something like that. It feels.....right. The art is awesome, wish i had something wicked enough to contribute to such a project, but i dont have the discipline or dedication to make stuff look.....even remotely presentable . IA! IA! VENGER AS'NAS SATANIS!IA! IA! KTULU FTAGN!

i actually need deadlines, yeah i really need them. without a deadline ominously descending upon me, i just put stuff off. and this fucker needs motivation! i can already tell it's going to take an ungodly amount of energy to finish. but the rewards should be commensurate.
i'll take all suggestions under advisement, so feel free to post your thoughts and ideas in this thread.

Firstly : what DOES A:O mean?
And secondly : the book already sounds like a masterpiece. Just as a suggestion, I agree that you should do it Michael Ford style. Make it a handbook of ritual magic, including all rituals you know of and practise and that are effective and also background behind the magic involved. And doing a segment on seals and sigils would be good too.
I can't wait!

A:O is something we came up with on the forum, maybe a year ago. it's a short hand/symbolic term for Ancient Ones. additionally, it stands for Alpha and Omega, that is beginning and end in the Greek alphabet.
what is the Michael Ford style? is there something about the handbook nature i should pay attention to? how does a handbook differ than other occult books? just trying to get a handle on what you and others mean.

VSI think he means like a workbook? I am guessing since I own a Enochian workbook that breaks down those complex ceremonies and has space for the student to write notes on. Anyway, how about using the name "The Cthulhu Grimoire" or "The Gateway to the Ancient Ones", "The Dark Gods, Book of Shadows"....I know sounds cliche, but those titles are used to attract attention to Occult books. MY two cents for this morning

Michael Ford lays out everything about magic from the basics upward. He teaches you everything you need to know to be a practitioner of magic, interspersed with rituals (such as the Luciferian Supper of Cain). So it's almost like a "Luciferian Magic for Dummies" book.

I'll only buy it if it is bound in toadskin..only sonoran desert toad skin
I do admire the deluxe editions of yours I saw from waning moon.
Hope to see a kind of post-modern eclectic mix of art, philosophy, and ritual. a eldritch-infernal in print would be just the thing to get the tentacles stirring....
As I just spent a $100 on a physics textbook, it makes me sick i cant invest a little on the CoC tome.

I think it would be coolif the book was set up as like curriculemfor heralds etc.Like a text book. Also unless there is specific thing you wanted for the cover. I thought you could hold an art compertition for the book, winner gets their art on the cover.
If possible please go in to the dream cycle, it is after all part of or a brother to the mythos.

Both the rune alphabet and the symbols i create here belong to every cultist, even non members. I am not a fan of copyright.
But where my stuff is like a homemade moped or something Vengers stuff is like a self constructed helicopter. ;D
It gets further, its faster and a lot more fun to ride. ;D
I hope to self publish something in the near future. But i have been going with those thoughts always. I find more "real" just bringing the stuff here and getting whatever feedback may come. In terms of myself and books a always get that; "This isnt good enough for me to publish it yet" feeling. Online i dont get that feeling at all.
I think i will publish short stories and bring the rituals, methods and art within the stories.
In any case. that Shade dudes work is awesome, killer artist.

the front and back cover are already taken care of. i've got a guy who sells these great ebay Cthulhu LARP props, scrolls, and pages from the Necronomicon working on it.
regarding the writing, it's slow going but will contain as many revelations as i can muster.
