finally received it and am i liking it. apparently there's a softcover version too and the hardcover is only being sold by 3rd parties on amazon and for more money than i paid. not sure what that's about. this is a faux-leather cover and doesn't include every single HPL story; however, it's still quite awesome!

damn, i was just thinking.
Over a decade ago, it was hard (or slightly impossible) to get ones hands on Lovecrafts works (places like here). Only now, after the internet shopping has really taken off, has it become an easily managed task (worldwide that is. It MUST have been easier to get the books in the us, uk and such, than it was here in DK).
I used to scout bookstores (who never knew Lovecraft) and libraries (where the Lovecraft books were ALWAYS out). Same thing with the Satanic Bible, it was infamously impossible to obtain (on a street level). Now i can just go and pick up as many as i want (provided that i have the necessary money of course). Or download the lot of the internet for free.
Back in the day, (here in DK) the book you have just bought, seems too good to be true.
Finally Howard is getting his due. ;D
Only took about a hundred years for the wide world to catch on to him, lol
Ia! Lovecraft!

Yes, quite the same here in Serbia. It was impossible to obtain HPL books, mainly because everything that was published was ''The case of CDW'', ''At the mountains of madness'', and a scrapbook of some 10 or 12 stories, if I remember correctly.Today, it is only possible to find it on the street, and that very rarely and expensive. So the internet has opened new horizons for me.

Yeah Lovecraft wasn't/isn't that big down under in Australia.
That being said, I bought the softcover version of this in a shop today. It's a shop that imports.
It's not that bad! I'll have to start making my way through it.

How is it guys? Is the selection of stories in the book good? I saw a soft-cover copy at the book store today and nearly bought it... but I remembered VS talking about getting a hardcover online. I much prefer hardcover books. I destroy softcover books.
