www.azure.org.il/magazine/magazine.asp?id=337found that amazing essay on MICHAEL HOUELLEBECQ. he wrote Lovecraft, Against the World, Against Life (which i recommend) among other books.
didn't know where to put this post, but i figured Houellebecq is as much a philosopher as anything else.

Nice, I saw "Lovecraft, Against the World..." the other day and I'm very curious abut it.

i recommend Lovecraft: Against the World, Against Life. it's well worth it. his perspective on HPL is definitely unlike Lovecraft scholars like S.T. Joshi and Robert M. Price because Houellebecq is a decadent literary artist himself.
the only thing i don't like is that half the book is taken up by 2 Lovecraft stories that i already own multiple times in other volumes, "The Call of Cthulhu" and "The Whisperer in Darkness".
