I recieved The Necronomicon Tarot today. Overall not dissapointed. It is based on The Golden Dawn escoteric of tarots. It is darker and more bloody than I thought. I Agree it is more for Pathworking than a tarot reading. My dissapontment is it isn't more gruesome and more detailed artwork. We all know The Necronomicon here. I do plan on using it though. I give it a 3.5.
I give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
I hope this edit explains more.

Got the Necronomicon Tarot a wee while back as a bit of a curiosity. But found that all its little quirks soon grew on me. Do recommend u read Donald Tyson's Al'hazred to get the best out of it. if you haven't already Its not a great read but worth persevering with to get a bit of clarity on some of the back stories

what?
out of...
i can't devote almost a hundred hours to read a 1,000+ page book because it clarifies a couple things. for me, that would be a colossal waste of time.

My dissappointment in that itsn't gruesome enough is because It isn't like the stories. HP Lovecraft.
And as of artwork it could have been more detailed.

I'm not buying the 1000 page book. I'll just deal with it. Thanks for your advice anyway.

I have/own Alhazred, Tyson's Necronomicon, and the Necronomicon Tarot.
I liked Alhazred a lot.
Also, I liked the tarot although some of the artwork was misleading. Such as the card of Azathoth. He looks like a fat Jamacan guy on the card. ahahaha
;D

Yes! It's uncanny isn't it? I would actually have pictured Azathoth as a formless black shape in a huge hallway floating above his ebon throne... But that's just me

My boyfriend got me this deck today as a surprise. I like the artwork... the imagery grabs my attention by the nape of the neck. The world card is my favorite out of all of them.

I ordered mine a while back, still waiting on it to come in. I can't wait to use it, I'm sure it will be attuned to the same energies that I radiate. I just have this feeling.

I teach Tarot workshops, in my theology about Tarot the first rule of thumb is, don't follow another man's interpretations and symbolism - make up your own. I instruct students to discard the little booklet that came with the Tarot Deck, and explore the cards for their images and see what comes to them, naturally - in terms of interpreting the images. So in other words, take what you already know about the mythos, and use the cards to tell a story. If you are an avid reader, you'll know what I'm referring to. Even when you do practice runs, or read for yourself - all you need is your own mind, and the images for a story-board. I find it utterly useless to use another man's interpretation. It's just as useless as those dream interpretation books, or attaching meanings to crystals. Recently, a friend of mine asked me to fashion him a ritual necklace. He wanted my recommendations on the types of stones, I suggested 'Blood Stone' and he immediately said 'But I thought that was for 'healing' ?' My reaction? "Ummmm, according to whom? The big booga booga?" He got the point; and I hope you do too.

Do you think it would behoove me to sit and think on each card and record my first impressions? I was going to read it just for the Tyson's view on the cards, not to learn how to use them.
