Hello my fellow cultists!
This may seem like an odd request, especially for a new member to the forum but I feel like this was a project I was doing that other people would really be interested in seeing. Anyway, moving forward from the initial peasantries...
I have a senior year assignment in extension English studies where I have to complete a major work on a topic of my choosing. Being a devout follower of Lovecraft and his works, particularly their references in popular culture, I have decided to compose a critical response detailing references and values taken from Lovecraft's writing and re-used and adapted in popular/modern culture. This means references in music (eg. Metallica, H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society etc), literature, philosophy, everything. So, two requests stem from this topic.
The first, for all of you, is I'd like some basic references to Lovecraft found everywhere that would be interesting to write about. This can honestly be anything, from minuscule references in King novels to songs entirely about Cthulhu. The second request is slightly more in-depth.
I would really like a few people to look through my writings and give me some opinions on it. This will involve some effort, however you would have my undying gratitude and any assistance with any project in the future.
I'll check back soon for some feedback, I'm really excited to see where this could go.
-Paraphile, or Harrison.

In relation to music, you can find several references on Cradle of Filth's album 'Midian' ('Cthulhu Dawn' (obviously) and 'Death Magick for Adepts' are the major songs). 'Angel of Disease' by Morbid Angel is about Shub-Niggurath. And I'm sure there's at least 3 bands called "Necronomicon" out there! As well as Yuggoth, Cthulhu and Shub-Niggurath. Hope that was some kind of vague help.
