Darrick,
I was looking at your pictures and dude, you look like you could kick some serious ass. You obviously work out, no one gets like that from being lazy. I've always to strengthen myself physically for quite some time. I've taken up working out and running, but I wanted to ask you about something untraditional. Being the High Priest of your own cult, it goes without saying that you're skilled in magic. Tell me, do you know of any meditations or magic rituals designed to burn fat and build muscle?

well, thanks. yeah, the working out goes in streaks. sometimes i'm an obsessed freak about it ( although not to a dangerous extent ) and other times i'll go 2 or 3 months always thinking... "yeah, i should start going to the gym again." haha.
actually i think magic and fitness go hand in hand, they work on similar levels.
for working out. you need to exhaust the muscle group. start slow, like a warm up and 2 sets of 7 - 12 repetitions per set. and once it's exhausted you have to feed the muscle with protein and other "healthy" food. plus plenty of rest. if you work out your chest on monday, then you don't want to work out your chest muscles again until Sunday or Monday. i like to change it up, because the body loves to fall into a rut. i might do chest, biceps, and abs monday, take tuesday off, then back and tricepts, wed., then legs, traps, and abs on thurs. then take fri. and sat. off and start back with chest, biceps, and abs on sunday.
also, pushing your muscles to the limit is a good way to acheive "gnosis" or Awakening. your mind is instantly cleared of everything except what you're doing. you are in the present moment and feel a charge or shock. this is a good time to focus your Will and direct change. maybe concentrate on a sigil visualized with your mind's eye, mentally chant a specific word/phrase, or visualize a certain event taking place.
when working with magic, the magician should exhaust his "sorcery muscles", his Will, concentration, visualization, and strengthen his beliefs. after this exhaustion, he needs to rest and relax. zone out and do something pleasureable, enjoyable, stimulating. after a few days, the magician should tax those "sorcery muscles" again, this time going a little bit further.
whether it's working out or casting spells... too little won't see any results or improvements and too much will actually harm your efforts.
hope that helps.
i'm going to post this is the new CoC forum too, because i think it will interest many.
thanks,
VS
