Ever have those moment when ur doin something and u have a thought about what ur doin?So as ur about to do it,bang ,ITS GONE!You had no idea wht ur were about to do or why but u know u want to do it.The only catch is u cant remember it.Its a long aggiating struggle till its back in your head...What the hell is this ?It happened to me to day so i decided we should keep an index of things forgotten. Any explanation to what it is is welcome as well.
Today I went to download a song,i forgot the artist and song though and was stuck in a split second daze.It took 3 minutes for me to remember again after trying not to think about it and find some clue.I rebounded faster than usual but still...
1-In the hall of forgotten is an undisclosed song.

That's because WE ARE ALL ASLEEP !!
How can anyone expect to recall anything when we're on autopilot? Use this moment right here and now to remember yourself. Wake up and be conscious!

Harlequin Shaitan Herald of the Old GodsThanks for that. I've been kind of unawake today. It's intensely irritating how we don't know we're asleep until we wake up.

Awakening takes an awesome amount of energy physically and mentally. The brain places things in an automatic program to preserve energy and enable multi-tasking.Like talking on the cell phone and driving at the same time,it will be near impossible to drive and dedicate every detail to memory while focusing and maintaining full awareness on conversation.
The only problem I find with a full awareness and focus or mental proprioception -as a better term- is the amounts of energy it demands from the body to maintain this heightened state.Id imagine its advantageous in short bursts.Perhaps it can even allow u to affix symbolic cues to things for a perfect memorization of experience and a sorcerer's manipulation of events.
I suppose like anything u start small and work your way up.Awakening brings to mind Peter Carroll's syllabus in Liber KKK.A point far past shaman-ism or sorcery is mentioned but the details were vague.

Ah, talk about a common yet tragical problem!
After an incident at the age of 12, my short-term memory was never what it used to be. It feels like a mental equivalent of looking through a pinhole in a piece of cardboard and try to do my daily activities like this. Everything is still feasible, but it takes more time and the effort feels excessive. Well almost everything. I wouldn't drive if my life depended on it. Anyway, forgetting things, being inattentive even to things that are very interesting, and never feeling fully awake are things that I'm very familiar with.

yes indeed. a very good analogy... trying to Awake and maintaining that heightened state is like being a driver who is attentive to every detail and nuance; not only in the journey, but what is happening within the car as well. if the road is your daily routine, other cars are people you come in contact with, and inside the car is your psychological state, then we have a whole picture. obviously, a driver who is aware and concentrating on the matters at hand is superior than one who is daydreaming. short bursts are better than nothing. think of all the energy wasted on expressing negative emotions. if we could stop that, then we'd have plenty left over for Self-Remembering and the like.

Venger As'Nas Satanis Cult of Cthulhu High Priest[/color] Thus far when I have managed short bursts with no problem, although I must report one thing I find peculiar the short length that it doesnt overwhelm me.Is it just me or in these instances does it seem like time stands still? Its almost as if it doesn't exist at all. This is one of the reasons I do not maintain it as a constant. As of yet I am unable to handle the infinitum of time. Also if I hold on longer than an hour I tend to get these micro-siezures which aren't pleasant.(In this state of seizure I have walked across the street and froze forgetting where and who I am almost getting hit by a car, twice in one day.) I will try to each time surpass the previous limit until my mind is used to it.When I can achieve slipping into this state of awareness with less effort,I have every intent of using this timelessness to place symbols beneath the surface of the observed mind. For me lack of time is no longer a valid excuse.

nothing frustrates me more than forgetting a point or what I'm doing. it happens more often as I get older. it used to be dejavue (or however the hell its spelled). my mind has toatally recieded into itself. I can't focus on what I'm doing half the time, and I forget, but my mind races a mile a minute trying to remember. I guess it balances out most of the time.
