I've got it. I preferred it to Simon's which I also have. Tyson takes it back towards Lovecraft's original ideas IMO. While Simon's is very ritualistic, Tyson leads it more shamanistic. It has a great feel about it but does not offer much in the way of magical workings and is more a story really. I would use it more as a useful tool to immerse your mindset into the Mythos reality and it can be useful used with Chaos magick practise in that regard.
He has also done something on the journeys of Abdul Al-Hazad or something like that.

I've read the Necronomicon, and his follow-up book, Alhazred; Alhazred was the single greatest book I've ever read, and I highly recommend buying both of the books. Since I read Alhazred I've been planning on getting the Necronomicon Tarot when it comes out. Donald Tyson has also wrote some fantastic nonfiction books on magic, which I also recommend reading. Donald Tyson is an amazing writer. www.llewellyn.com/bookstore/author.php?id=10642

Yeah those books sound interesting. I like the angle that the Simon Necronomicon brings to the table. But it wasnt exactly what i had expected from a necronimicon. The Tyson one sounds more like my taste. I hadnt even heard of the second book till now.
