Good choice there, i understand what you mean when you feel like your being recruited by the book, alot of religious books have that problem and lose me... unless i already am invovled with it. The book does function well as a research tool as well. I would recomend it. you can download it here. ebook.com/eBooks/Crime_Fiction/The_Book_of_Lies

It seems to me to be like a modern version of Agrippas "Three Books of Occult Philosophy".
Sounds very covering and interesting.
I have just begun reading through Agrippas work the last few nights before going to sleep, but every time i must stop because i read things that fit with my own beliefs and every time i must balance out my amazement.
I see what my mind wishes me to see of course.

I agree this is a very good book because in most of the chapters it explains principles and a few skills within the pages of different traditions which can be applied to any form of magick like in the beginning of the book the reason it starts with something like it did is because in the later pages you can add on to it.
Oh by the way in the section of Icons I notice that William Burrough and that other guy were onto about the whole Self Awakening type of thing and knowing this universe as a mere Hologram, indeed, I recommend this book as of course a research and a study guide to applie different principles to your type of magick, ...
From my own perceptive the book somewhat reminds me of a Chaos Magick book

I am currently reading this book, when I drop in at my local bookstore! Its got all the angles on post-modern magical systems! It even has a Chapter on the Lovecraft mythos! If anyone wants a modern up to date grimiore, this is a good place to start!

My partner bough me this book for my Birthday last year. I just opened it a few days ago for the second time. How odd.
