Well, I certainly know an Alternate Reality Game when I see one. It probably won't get as much publicity as the one Halo 3 has going right now.
To answer your question. Yes. Cthulhu.

I guess most are in agreement that this will be a movie based on the Cthulu. The ARG aspect is a nice twist. It is almost like they want you to feel like one of the initiated, one of those that knows what is going to happen because you too believed what Ethan Haas has written. An interesting thing to check out if you have the time is www.slusho.comIt seems like an innocent enough site for some weird frozen drink product, but if you look at the history section you will notice that it has more to say about a certain ingredient found deep in the ocean (Where Cthulu slumbers?) and how the man who discovered it uses it to make "Slusho". Is this to make people the servants of the Cthulu or vessels for them or maybe food for the gods? Of course this all started with the trailer for 1-18-08 or Cloverfield as it is referred to. The coolest part of the trailer by far being the scene where the head of the Statue of Liberty's head is thrown down into the streets of New York. Seeing as how the Statue is surronded by water it seems feasable that the water dwelling Cthulu could destroy it on his way inland as a sign of things to come? www.EthanHaasWasRight.com has this posted on it if you disable java... ...war came, no longer from the elemental nor from the star's rain of fire. The world was again remade, and the glow was as the coming of the sun upon the Earth. The children of the gods were again too few, scattered and divided and among them walked the ancients and those whose thoughts were not as to the towers and the marvels, but to the End and the destruction of the Earth and to the fires from which nothing could escape. pretty cool shit huh?

According to Abrams, the Ethan Haas website is not connected to his project. The site for the project is supposed to be www.1-18-08.com. It used to have only two photos but now has four. Also, do a whois of the site and then enter the name and e-mail address in a search engine.
