Hey Brothers and Sisters, Hail Cthulhu! Hope you’re all well.
Just wanted to post something and see what you think.
This is the first time I’ve ever done something like this and I realise I’m no H.P. Lovecraft but I’ve tried.
What do you think?
CTHULHU
‘It was night when it came, suddenly and violent. The dream of dreams, or should I say nightmare of nightmares!
‘I found myself in a damp, dark room so large I couldn’t see the walls, despite the flaming torch I seemed to hold in my hands. There was no sign of life, nothing to see and nothing to hear. That is apart from the voice in my head.
‘Suddenly I saw a door, “that wasn’t there a minute ago?”. It was huge, I couldn’t see the top.
‘That voice in my head, it was getting louder, “Cthulhu fhtagn, Cthulhu fhtagn”. I found myself in a sort of trance, I approached the door and saw an unusual device that I instinctively knew was a lock.
‘Another thought, “to lay my hands on it, only a man can open it,” and again, “open the door and let the King of R’lyeh walk free.”
I looked, and there, there were two imprints of a hand. I don’t know why, and don’t ask me. For I felt as though I was in a dream being guided by an unknown source. I placed my hands in the imprints and turned them slightly towards each other. With an ancient grinding sound (?) the door opened upwards. The smell was overwhelming, like a crypt full of decaying flesh that had been there for a thousand years.
‘I heard a sound, of something lumbering around. Then I saw it, it was huge with a sort of greenish translucent flesh. And its head! A mass of tentacles with two eyes of pure black staring, staring at me!
‘I was frozen, I couldn’t move. I couldn’t move as the giant hand reached out and grabbed me.
‘I realized then in that moment just how pitiful the human race is compared to the unknown horrors of the universe. “So small and pitiful” I was thinking, as I felt and heard my bones braking. One squeeze and it was all over…
‘Now I enter the permanent dream… “Cthulhu fhtagn, Cthulhu fhtagn” is all I can hear, and I realise I’m not entering a dream, but a permanent nightmare…’ nightmare…’
