What is physical fitness?
There are four components; stamina, strength, flexibility, and balance. What many tend to leave out of their fitness equation is that all four apply to the mind as well in order to achieve them in the body.
Let's take for example the calisthenic pose of the Bridge. You must maintain the mental strength to hold the pose - it requires mental focus which is the sign of a trained mind.
How about endurance aerobic activity? Your mind determines the stamina of your body as well in how long it will endure the increase in pain and exhaustion.
What about the days training becomes boring or you miss a few? It takes mental acuity to be creative in training methods or to relieve yourself of guilt. Flexibility of mind means stretching creative limits and being elastic in setbacks.
Balance is necessary to every activity and all forms of strength building. Balance of mind is used during moments of fighting your multiple "I"s. Maintaining motivation and focus when life offers multiple distractions. On the flip side, you can allow yourself days of rest and reprieve when necessary.
No training will be effective without a proper mind set, just as a Gnostic state requires the same mental abilities.
Not all training is the same. The right fitness model is essential to achieving a better gnostic state and it cannot be found in a gym. Isolated (as opposed to social) exercises improve concentration. I recommend a particular routine: dynamic stretches, calisthenics, and static stretches. All of these require similar techniques used in meditation; visualization (of the muscle or body part), focus, and breath work.
Morning: Dynamic stretches followed by Calisthenics
Evening: Static Stretches
