'One does not look for a black goat in the night'
It's been an exciting year for curious- minded folks. The Higgs Boson (the God particle) was discovered, so also the touch of the London Olympics was finally extinguished, then the 10 -year- project: $2.5bn- Mars-Rover, curiosity, perfectly landed after traveling 352 million miles through the void ( scary) between earth and Mars.
The Mars Rover is expected to answer various questions; cardinal on whether the Planet was ever habitable or could support life. That means, beyond all the sci-fi make-believe we glimpse in the movies, it would finally be a question with a confident, real answer. In all these, the powers behind the endeavors determines its success or failure.
Occultist are daring. Infact it is a testimony to the imagination and daringness of man in general, that we can and would explore the nooks and crannies of the universe in search of answer, display of knowledge and power, all these are as a result of the power/ temple behind that man.
What is the temple behind you? the word temple is derived from the Latin word 'templum' itself derived from the Indo-European root 'tem- which means to cut, divide' ie it indicates a place or ground divided, separated from others and made or as an indication of its hallow nature. From the fore-going we can sum up that a temple can be said to mean , among others but not limited, to a building, ground where divinities are worshiped. Some go further to ascribe to a being, some, as walking temples.
This temples are believed to have powers signifying the presence of a deity. This deity is what makes a temple worth the while.
Considering the above explanation, it means some temples have deities that are not worth mans supplication since they cannot act, protect and even bless her worshipers. Much as this might sound outrageous, it is true. The confidence, swagger, and bravado that man walks and conduct his daily activities is a reflection of the temple behind him. Temples come in different shades and colors, above all are inhabited by different deities, some go by the name Temple of Set, Orisa, Amadioha,Satan, Peacock, Cthulhu,Mermaid, Allah, Jehovah, Yahweh etc, in all the worshipers of these various gods amplify their worth and power by referring to different magic wrought by their different names. A temple with no power and testimony might end up having dust and elephant grass as it's worshipers.
Every temple has a Priest/Priestess (high or low) that stands and administer devotion and representative figure on behalf of the deity in the temple. This priest are the physical representatives of these deities and actions by these Priest/Priestess are seen as an indication of the power of the temple in which he or she serves. In Africa, as an example, the High Priest/ Priestess life style, affluence, untouchable status, is seen as a reflection of the power of the temple behind him. Flocks of adherers and worshipers will come to that temple to be blessed by the perceived powerful deity in the temple.
The Priest is clearly a living testimony of the power of the temple. He serves the deity in the temple and speaks to worshipers, telling them what the deity has spoken. Even the state of the worshipers is an indication of the deity's power, most gods are abandoned just because crops failed to yield in her season, or enemies over ran them even with the presence of such deity.
The stories of the Christian Bible abound with example of the power behind the Isrealites of old. They move with the miniature temple-Ark of the Covenant- indicating the presence of their God Jehovah, and this builds up confidence in the minds of the soldiers going to war and most often they come out with victories, attributing their victories to the temple behind them.Though they most times come out of wars smelling like a rose, it has not stopped them , from abandoning this Jehovah when they feel he has failed them.
The challenge of the temple of Baal and The temple of the God of Elijah, in the bible shows how temples challenge temples and their priest move with deftness to try and win the heart of the people to his own temple.
Temples can be just a figment of some peoples imagination with no real substance emanating from them. The efficacy of temples can indeed be seen through the eyes of the High Priest/Priestess. The Aztec temple of old is a typical example, The worshipers greatly believed in the power of the god that , they offer the ripped out hearts of their enemies as sacrifice on the threshold of the temple. This they belief furnishes the Priests with power but also brings the blessing of their god on the land. Many example abound of the confidence of man based on the temple behind him.
The temple behind you speaks for you and fights for you. It protects you even against forces you cannot see nor hear from but do exist. Forces beyond the imagination of man that can turn ones world overnight from better to worst or the other way round. Devotion, most especially is what is required from worshipers of each deity and it is expected that the High Priest of such temple will be able to effectively communicate with the worshipers so as to increase confidence and make their devotion to that deity worth it. Blessings is the common denominator of all worshipers and it comes in different shapes and shades depending on the request and want of the devotee.
Finally, the Temple behind you speaks for you, if he cannot , then ask yourself the question, is it worth it? or should I look for this black goat while it is yet day time.
