Everyone in there lifetime has been an Asshole at some point or another. The important thing is that you reconsider it and correct it with others and yourself. That is part of learning and ascending to your full potential in your being and existence with the universe. Ia Ia Cthulhu Ftagin!!

Sometimes it takes an asshole to cause a necessary disruption, therefore assholes are not 'useless', in my opinion.
If for example you 'allow' an asshole to disrupt you, are those disruptions *always* useless to you? Perhaps you are stagnating, or living a self-absorbed life, and that asshole comes along and jerks you loose from that mud you seem to be stuck in.
thoughts?

^Give my video a listen.
Isn't that the default of logic? Similar to determining what 'beauty' is? When seeking this answer, it appears that everything is relevant, and if so, then what is the point in trying to distinguish an asshole?
How does one identify an asshole?
What point is there in identifying an asshole?
If the 'asshole' is in the eye-of-the-beholder, then there are truly no assholes, or...Everyone is an asshole? Or perhaps in trying to speak the truth, this exercise is an intermediate between man and the gods.
"No man desires what he is or has..."
In extrapolating Gnosis, man is attempting to identify the 'good' so that he can create something good for himself.
Much like Socratic method, this quandary is a method by which we can filter out those negative influences to quickly create the good.
Venger writes:
"Too much filter robs us of illumination. Who can do careful, precise work - especially if we're unsure of exactly how to perform it - in very poor light? Get rid of the filter so there is nothing obstructing or obscuring the view of our essence or soul - the part which needs our attention."
He is suggesting that we rid ourselves of the filter, so that there is nothing to obstruct the view.
This statement is paradoxical, because without the filter in place how can we ever identify the good to create it?
He offers a clue:
" It's ok to be cynical, jaded, and skeptical. Yet, and this is important, one must strive to see(k) the good... no matter how much bad there is around us."
Being skeptical (as an example) is not negative, its a filter. It can become negative when that skepticism turns everything into a negative. There is no way to see the positive, to create its goodness.
This was a lesson I learned for myself years ago, in my youth I was so jaded by the world I could see nothing positive to create. I would then what? Allow this world to consume me, taking nothing for myself? Allow my essence to take hit after hit until the very essence of my being was nothing more than insufferable asshole?
I think what Venger is attempting to say, is that if you view the world through Lucifer's lens, then you can only see the world in one particular way. To include the view of yourself. What if you set the lens down, put it away for a while and just viewed the world for what it is, accept this truth, and then instead take the positive and make something good for yourself.
Filtering it too much, and you can't see its goodness. You can only see the negative and thus become of it; negativity in motion. You then behave in a manner that is not conducive to being of the gods.
Awake! The time is now!

Consider your behavior and correct yourself, yes. However, we cannot correct others; that would be a fool's errand.
Certainly, those you disrupt will believe you are an asshole. Especially, if you are trying to break free or show others the way of liberation. Such individuals are not useless, just as Cora'Sahn said. But that kind of subjective designation from exterior people (sleepers) is not what "The Asshole Quandary" is about. More than anything, it's about external consideration and what is good for the Work.
It can be from ordinary perspectives, but let us try to see things from a higher vantage point... let us take a moment to reach objective consciousness which will reveal a more objective reality. As such, not everyone is an asshole.
Yes.
The filter is artificial and, therefore, unnecessary. Real "I" can identify good from bad, it knows when our machine is being an asshole and when it's considering others.
That's right. Skepticism is not a negative emotion. It's a filter, but of a different kind. A healthy sense of skepticism, to go with an open mind, is not part of the filter known as false personality. Rather, skepticism is a filter of discernment - it discriminates between one thing and another. Not automatically taking things as they come - blind faith. Instead of seeing them as black and white, skepticism is part of a network of tools which perceives various shades of grey. This allows us to recognize the third side.
I used the word "asshole" to capture the attention of people who aren't familiar with the Fourth Way, but might be intrigued enough, after reading the post, to learn about it.
Ultimately, everyone will have their own take, getting something different out of the received knowledge based on their individual being. I hope this is not the end of discussion, but the beginning.
Awake!

True, provided the masks have been peeled away. Ordinary people spend a hell of a lot of time piling them on as a pre-occupation.
The very essence of my being knows (Gnosis) when someone is handing me shit, but telling me its a cupcake. I know better. It's perhaps why I'm often called the asshole, for demystifying their bullshit illusion and showing them the shit they are trying to hand me. I'll be the asshole. I'll show them the mirror.
