I had a very strange set of decisively vivid dreams recently and thought I’d share. They started some time ago when i started a new method of lucid dreaming. The method allows one to establish their dreams much quicker then some other methods i had been employing. The method is basically to, instead of just allowing yourself to sleep you should after going to bed keep the mind active, whilst systematically shutting down the body. It also seems to help if you wait until your over tired, thus allowing the natural chemicals for sleep a chance to stagnate.
The most recent dream was 4 nights ago. However these recurring consistencies in my dreams started a while ago. The reason they have lead me to pursue some thing more from them and expect some light at the end of the tunnel is because i hadn’t been trying to evoke these visions. “Hadn’t” because after such consistency i was going to address them.
The first aappearaappearancea form of a large but sprawny robed and hooded shadow creature. Dawning a mask made of a thick darkness solid enough to be considered material. The mask was more or less featureless, but was cut on strange sharp angles which reassembled the features of a broken face. During it’s first appearence i was not able to identify as much as i have now, in fact it seems to have become increasingly vivid with time. This could be due to it growing in power/ influence, or it could be as a result of my becoming more familiar with the lucid dreaming technique.
There is one other consistency that i have just realized upon going over my notes. It seems to emerge in the nights before the full moon. However this doesn’t seem to be something too significant. The first time i tried to summon it was on a waxing gibbous and that was to no distinct effect. The second time however yielded fruit, and allowed me to identify the entity.his was roughly 3 nights before full moon.
I consider the entity to be Ialdogorth. An outer god from the court of Azathoth. I originally though it might have been Nyarlathotep, due to its masked appearance originally. However it reappeared more recently and much more vividly as a cloud of misted ink swirling about itself. Which after wards lead me to believe it’s not Nyarlathotep simply because of the ease by which i could banish it. Once I discovered my ability to banish it so freely i decided it was time to establish a more open approach to it and try and establish a motive behind its arrival.
I tried a summing ritual and had moderate success. Ialdogorth manifested not as just a visual but as a distinct feeling in the mind. Despite the presence of the entity being clear to me, i was not bale to establish communication. which at the time i chocked up to my unskillfully attempts at seance. However i have since discovered why ialdagorth would not communicate with me. I believe it to be a mere pawn of soughts due to it’s most recent appearence.

That's all i wrote down, as it was enough for me to cement the rest of the dream into my ‘waking’ consciousness. I will continue.
At this time i was completely aware i was dreaming and had managed ignore the reactive parts of the brain that seek to wake you after this. I decided(i say decided but it it happened so fast it’s seems more of a reaction of mind upon reflection) to manifest in a humanoid form and stand still as Ialdogorth in this energy predator form approached. The initial trepidation and fear left me as i new i was dreaming and in control, obviously.
As the creature drew nearer i formed myself into a web of gelatinous slime strung up between the walls. The change between the forms was rather like a pop or explosion. Ialdogorth past straight through me. This next bit I am a little fuzzy on specifically, but i do recall that i destroyed/ banished(not sure which) Ialdogorth. After that i was whisked aware from the catac
ombes of angular shadows. And not just the puppet form contained still within the maze, but the me i considered to be my actual ‘self’ within this voidal dimension.
I traveled spontaneously and without my desire too. Strange because i new i was dreaming and was looking forward to enjoying such a vivid lucid experience. The traveling and arrival is also fuzzy but i can say that it felt like a tumbling type of flying, like i was caught in an aerial wave. Unfortunately as its been a few days since the dream the rest is fuzzy as well.
I can say something though, i arrived on some type of monolithic platform, and was confronted by the affore mentioned far off consciousnesses. Cthulhu, Yog-Sothoth, Azathoth were most definitely present. I new they where conferring amongst them selves in front of me. I couldn’t describe their size specifically as the platform was massive and the featureless void seemed to make any point of reference for distance between me and them impossible.
I interacted with them, and was able to communicate in someway. I remember most that they explained to me the nature of these pre full moon dream recurrences. I woke up after that but i woke with my mind filled with understanding of the nature of what had transpired. These are the points that sat so prominently within in mind.
I wrote this because it is thus far the most vivid and exciting dreaming experience i have had. It also is one in which despite being so vivid i wasn’t influencing the environment of the dream. infact the only thing i seemed capable to control during the dream was my self.
Let this serve as a testament to our lovecraftian paradigm.

“I was in a hallway connected to a series of dark corridors. Lit as if all the light where in other rooms and these halls only had reflections. In this halls I could see there was another entity present. Its looked large mass of energy moving on all fours. I can say that it moved quickly and with motion similar to a large predator. It seemed to be solid, but not as an actual object or form. It’s very motion seemed to be that energy by which it was manifesting a form.
I could only see this because it was being fed to me somehow. I was in an entirely different part of these shadowcatacombss. At this point i started noticed i was aware of various parts of my environment simultaneously. Plus my strange location in general amidst this obscure dimension. As i became aware of my dream state i seamlessly shifted and found i was no longer in the catacombs but looking at myself in them. I was in the void between the shadows above my own implacable local. I started to feel a separate consciousness present, separate from myself and the other entity roaming predaciously through the maze. I could hear them only barely but there was 3+ consciousness very fair off, but that i was made aware of. By now the four legged entity had made its way through halls and was approaching the 'me’ still within the catacombes. I new i was there but i couldn’t see myself. I realised i hadn’t decided anything for myself yet and that’s why i hadn’t taken a visually apparent form.”

- That Ialdogorth(i still assume as i wasn’t lead to believe otherwise) was sent to test me
- that my actions within the maze, defeating the entity ialdogorth earned me a chance to commune with Cthulhu etc.
- that they had meant this event to strengthen my will, and my resolve as a mage.
