There seems to be confusion about it amongst the various articles online. or rather they all have a different view on what it exactly is, and how it is effective in observable manifestations. The most common idea seems to hold it as a form of active astral self, others just consider it another name for the soul. then others consider as reference to a specific astral entity connected to specific planets, moons etc.
I have never fully understood the word and what it's suppose to be used for. has anyone used this 'luminous body' before? If so to what results?

I practice daemonolatry, as I'm in-part a Roman recon. The idea is that the divine spirit can not enter man directly, so Daemons are intercessors between man and the divine. This concept may be confusing for Atheists, when trying to conceptualize the divine.
The Bible teaches in parables. It is the same premise as the Kingdom of God, which is built within the body of man. Steps must be taken to build a temple within, to house the divine spirit. "Spirit" in this context, is the essence of soul, vs. the illusion of personality. Man's life, is in preparation for the divine spirit to enter him, as he builds his temple. In the mean time, if you need to tap this divinity (and prematurely while you are building) intercessors are used to achieve Gnosis. In Catholicism, these intercessors are the Saints. When you call to Saints to intercess on your behalf, you are essentially using archetypes for concept and visualization, but you are speaking to your essence from a stance of personality.
Preservation of tradition, is a great way to demonstrate devotion to your task: To build the temple in preparation for Augoeides. This practice does not require a lot of pageantry, but if you are pretty hardline Atheist, you may need to take the extra steps to hold autonomy over your own psyche.
An example would be, one 'I' is telling you that gods are not real, nothing more than a figment of your imagination. In tandem with the Work, and meticulous occult practice, you can pull your 'I's' together, even if only for a moment to see the divinity, and the intercessor working on your behalf, thus extracting Gnosis and achieving results.
We are natural skeptics, so your instinct may be to demystify this practice and discard it as mind-fuckery; but it may be a trigger and shock needed to achieve your means with a little practice.
The time is now... CS

Thanks that has mad it clearer for me. I'm fairly familiar with the concept that you've describe. I don't think the atheist issues are really a bother to me, but i would like to make sure i know the practical difference. If you'd indulge me I'll give a scenario for reference.
A form of Samadhi meditition(non lotus position, more ritualized), coupled with sensory overload(music, incense etc.)
Would it be fair to say then that this would not be inclusive to Augoeide?. That this is approaching gnosis from a 'prepared temple' state. Or is it more specific as fare as to the exact method of attainment, in this case ritualized medaitation? As Samadhi includes various non-essential practices designed to invoke one pointed consciousness and stillness of mind. Practices such as focusing on an image as attentively as possible or counting to ten repeatedly.
Is samadhi the same mental phenomena as Augoeides? And is Augoeides the same phenomena as the 4th way's 'awakening'. Or is the fourth way considered separate in that it's actual work on the temple in preparation?

Yes, it is (inclusive). Among my practices is Ecstasia, a moving meditation similar to what you describe. The rituals are for specific purposes and categorized as Alpha-Ecstasis: A method by which you achieve Ritual Ecstasy, merely tapping that Divine essence. Evocare: Evocation of Gnosis, and Fogue: Willful possession. All of these, are a method by which you can crystallize the I's, and achieve Augoeides more permanently. With regular practice, achieving the descent into deeper levels of consciousness, takes less effort. It can be likened to the intellectualism of the Fourth Way. It's a fusion of the physical and mental Work required to see a way through your personality, to your essence.
Samadhi may in fact be similar in this regard, as you focus your mind, and travel into levels of consciousness. The more you do it, the better at it you become, and can open the door to the temple for Augoeides. The challenge is, determining the Right focus. The 8 Fold path and 4 Noble Truths may be helpful for contrast here.
You can certainly be incorrect with your view, intention, speech, action, livlihood, effort, concentration, and mindfulness. I believe this is why sanity then uses the occultist rather than in use by the occultist which causes him to destroy his foundation before it ever becomes structure. The occultist then, may never be free from his attachment, and is instead trapped in a prison of his own design.
Does that answer your question?

Very interesting I am very well versed in the idea of intercessary spirits,(or what have you) can we discuss more the role of intercessors in Awakening.

Certainly, did you want to take the discussion in a specific direction?
Such as, how can an intercessor help you Awaken?
