I have been wandering around here lately and noticing that no one is here. We have adds which means no money. What has happened? Where has everyone gone?

A couple weeks ago, the advertisement free service was pre-paid for December and January. So, all of November the forum had ads. Disappointing, but after paying for it myself for 2 years straight, I decided to give the opportunity to Cultists. Still looking for individuals, who haven't already given, to donate $7 for February and beyond.
Some people are still here, but most have gone away or remain silent. What has happened? Life happened and keeps happening. The gravitational force of life exerts its influence on every human being and at all times. Such is the way of things. The Cult of Cthulhu is not for the glory of life, but The Great Work. That makes it substantive, dangerous, and yet easily dismissed.
"In his house at R’lyeh, dead Cthulhu waits dreaming.” ~ HPL
Is this just a temporarily lull, the beginning of the end, or something else altogether...? I can't answer that question; however, I know my efforts must continue, and that my place in the Emerald Kingdom is assured.

Life keeps coming at me bro, but I do what I can... And in response to what Cora is saying up there, I'd like to add that you should check out some of the other CoC shit as well! I'm active on all three! And I'm still here!

I have been lurking on the boards for about a year, but now think I actually have good input, so i'm starting to post. There's definitely still activity.

(Lights cigarette) Indeed! Some days will be better than others. But the point is things are actually getting done and that certainly beats the hell out of stagnation...

They fact that there are only a few posts at a time by people, and not a constant all day chatter may also be a sign that people are going out and doing stuff, not just living on a message board.
I see new posts and new faces, as well as many old faces as well, so i think things are going pretty good.

It will keep growing. This idea is a slow rolling wave. The information that you require is here. Reminds me very much of deoxy. If you go there, you will find little to no trace of individual activity. But the hive is very alive within
As it is when you look at the arms of this idea

I know we all want it, but i don't see this Cult ever growing particularly large. It's just not in the cards as far as I'm concerned. Simply because of the prerequisite of knowledge required to understand us. The point of entry is narrow. Even the biggest and most popular LHP groups aren't particularly large compared to other organizations. Once you're in it isn't smooth sailing either. It's constant effort that given the circumstances rest largely on the individual.
As is with most groups that practice these things. Plus look what size does to religions anyway, they become more political less helpful to the members and the members become sheep.

I tend to agree, in this case does size really matter? The numbers game, is more so about cults of personality, and less about personal development.
Gurdjieff divided people into three parts: Body, Essence and Personality.
Body is the physical functions of a body. Essence - is a "natural part of a person" or "what he is born with"; this is the part of a being which is said to have the ability to evolve. Personality - is everything artificial that he has "learned" and "seen".
How this divided self operates follows the Law of Seven, in that its not a straight line from A to B. It has ups and downs.
I believe this is why we see people come and go, even the most seemingly devoted cultists become inactive. Some return, realizing they were working from personality rather than essence, but some never return. They go back to the programming, because its easier.
"Sleep not"; "Awake, for you know not the hour" -

There are technical solutions to many perceived problems. It is possible that this one might be fixed by one. It is apparent that the 'Activity Thread' is intended to serve as one. In some other boards there are buttons one presses which bring up a queue of 'Most Recent Posts' one can read so as to centralize all board activity into a queue. Some services don't make this available or workable in certain boards. Yet that is a proper solution to the issue where there actually IS activity but it isn't centrally located. In fact, there is a 'New Topics' button one may use herein.

I think it is a decent size, and will grow, but slowly. I see a lot of old faces, and MANY new faces as well.
It takes those who have a mind and spirit connected to a certain current, which streams back before the dawn of mankind as we are today, and not everyone can handle the primordial energy. Some are frighted by it, others get confused as it isn't really understandable on a human level.
You must think on a subhuman (superhuman?) level that mankind hasn't thought on since the abolishment of our ancestor's way of thinking.. PREorganized religion, when belief was reality..

I agree with this. Some of the loss of interest may be the difficulty locating the good info. I've suggested a technical manual as one solution, and some suggestions for the forum. It may help.

I'm around. I don't post often. Around here where I live, there's no cultists, so it's like being the lone ranger.

I tend to agree with the belief that the cult of cthulhu is slowly but surely doing what needs to be done.

It is not dead, but dreaming into new manifestations of evolutionary horror and chaos! The Cult is not simply a group of individuals, but a viral memetic organism; as long as one image of Cthulhu exists, and one individual echoes the Call, the Cult of Cthulhu will exist and never be forgotten!
The living of our lives manifests the CoC in the hearts, minds, and souls of all we come into contact with. Even if we never speak a word of our affiliation, its emerald energies emanate off of his and permeate everything we touch. The Cult will never die because it cannot help but live and mutate in ever-changing angles of non-euclidean abomination!
